Porto Galini is a elegant hotel beautifully nestled in greenery on a slope between Nidri and Nikiana. From here you have a great view of the Ionian Sea and the mountains of the Greek mainland. The hotel is built in classic Greek style with whitewashed walls and blue shutters. At best, relax in Porto Galini's spa, by the lovely pool or on the hotel's own beach. If you want a more active holiday you can work out in the gym or play tennis.
The hotel is located in quiet rural surroundings with traffic to and from the hotel. Stairs and level differences within the hotel and in the surroundings. A wide range of restaurants, bars and amusements can be found in Nidri, where you can easily get to you by taxi or car rental.
The buffet restaurant serves the breakfast and dinner buffet, which is included in the half board. The hotel also has an a la carte tavern. The tavern is open for lunch and dinner. The poolside bar serves drinks and simpler dishes throughout the day.
Porto Galini offers several training options, for example, you can workout in the fine gym with sea views or play volleyball. There are canoes to borrow, and also the opportunity to try out ""stand-up paddle surfing"" (SUP). The hotel's splendid spa includes steam room, jacuzzi and two indoor pools, one of which is heated. Here you also have the opportunity to buy for massage and other treatments.
Porto Galini has two nice pool areas. Two of the three kids' pools are connected to the largest pool.
Comfortable rooms with a nice decor and varied layout.

Firstly thank you to my wife for finding such a lovely spot. Secondly ALL the team at the Bay of Peace - from security to F&B manager, cleaning staff to spa masseuses, ευχαριστώ. Just what we were looking for. Perhaps 40 rooms occupied of the 150 odd available - so yes, Covid spoiled us. But I’d imagine even when full there would be space for all. Everything is reasonable. And the Segreto restaurant on site is superb. We’ll return for sure. Can’t recommend more highly than that. Seriously consider Lefkada - a cut above all other Greek resorts we’ve tried. ευχαριστώ
Absolutely loved our stay here. From Check in to check out, we were made to feel very relaxed.
Hotel is very secluded with no shops or restaurants in walking distance.
Hotel is located 10minutes by Taxi €8 or Bus €1.60 to Nidri where this is plenty of Shops, restaurants and a small harbour where multi boat trips start from. (Highly recommend MS Christina, the most comfortable boat trip we’ve ever been on. It is €55pp but it’s definitely worth that. Or
Lefkada (Lefkas) is 20minutes by Taxi €18 or again €1.60 for the bus.
Bus stop is directly outside the hotel entrance.
Hotel was extremely quiet when we arrived, I’d say no more then 20guests. We had a lovely room which had two floors with two double beds and a lovely balcony overlooking the pools and private beach.
The grounds were spotless and very well maintained. Several lovely pools to choose from. Although, the main attraction was it’s gorgeous private beach. Crystal clear waters, free kayaking and paddle boarding. It is very small stones but we prefer that as sand is just annoying. Waiter service at every sunbed.
Breakfast is great, wide range of options and dinner buffet has a different theme every night. (Italian, Sea Food, Asian etc)
Food and drink that wasn’t included in the half board Is the expensive side. €5 for a pint or €11 for a pizza, which can be double the price that you’ll find on other Greek islands.
They have a restaurant which is not included in the half board, which is lovely. You get 20% off if your half board.
COVID-19, the hotel goes above and beyond to keep everybody safe. Buffet is done by the waiters at each station and all staff were wearing masks.
We was told that the indoor Spa and Pool was closed due to COVID, but during one rainy day, we noticed people were in there.
All in all, we loved our stay here and will definitely be returning.
We had an unexpectedly wonderful stay at Porto Galini although we ourselves were initially somewhat skeptical of a resort-type hotel. Everything was perfect from the beginning - the view, the amenities, the staff which took care of us in every aspect (the lifeguard and water activities staff, the reception staff, the catering staff), the sea, the sense of quiet and privacy.
The hotel reception spontaneously prepared a little surprise for our honeymoon and were always available for all our queries, from turning on the tennis court lights to suggesting nice restaurants in areas of interest. We also felt very safe in terms of COVID precautions and cleanliness. In our downtime we managed to enjoy paddling, canoeing and tennis alongside the great private beach of the hotel. We were also fans of the breakfast options!
