This is the worst place I have ever stayed in. I arrived with small children with heavy luggage in the middle of the night. A grumpy old man demanded money for tourist tax without even saying hello. He quickly walked off up a flight of stairs leaving me and the children ( the youngest was 5 ) struggling to keep up with him. He then opened the apartment door and walked off without saying a word. Although I saw him everyday for the rest of the holiday, he never spoke a word to me again. He was one of 3 mean and rude old men in charge of the hotel. They continued to ignore me for the rest of the holiday, not even bothering to say hello back when I said hello. I often saw them yelling at the guests for no apparent reason. I felt uncomfortable and unwelcome my entire stay. The children were afraid of these men as they saw them loudly yelling at other children. The room I stayed in was in bad condition. The tiles were broken on the floor ( we had to put a suitcase over them in case someone cut their foot), the lamp shades were broken, the kitchen utensils were disgusting and filthy, the shower curtains were held up by a thin wire nailed to the wall, there was nothing to hold the shower up so you have to hold it and hose yourself down, there was no hot water half the time, also there were huge gaps under the doors so the place is constantly filled with mosquitoes. We decided to eat there the first morning and never again. The food was expensive and poor. My scrambled egg was burnt and there was no butter on the toast. My cappuccino was a luke warm stale cup of coffee with canned cream squirted on it. We discovered far better and cheaper places to eat just down the road. After returning from the beach I laid my beach shoes out to dry on the balcony railings. My shoe happened to drop down to the garden below. I could see the old men were working in the garden not too far away. I went to retrieve my shoe straight away. However, the shoe was gone and the old men denied they had seen it. I never did get it back. There is a large TV under lock and key in the communal area which the guests are not allowed to watch. It only gets unlocked in the evening where the three old men sit in the dark and watch greek soap operas whilst ignoring all guests that walk past. This service is not typical of my stay in Kos, TIngaki was filled with great restaurants and friendly staff. Alot of the local people in restaurants and hotels near by are aware of the problems with this hotel, I have never seen anything like this in my life. This place is similar to something you would see on Gordon Ramseys Hotel Nightmares. The only plus to this hotel was that it was quiet, however I think that is because none of the guest want to be there.
Spent 2 miserable weeks in this grim place after booking last minute. I was alarmed by all the terrible reviews but thought it couldn’t be that bad. IT WAS !.From the moment we arrived there were no welcomes or greetings. Never at any point were we asked if we enjoyed our stay. Tatty old rooms with torn mosquito nests. Food is expensive and of poor quality. 5 euros for two dry bits of toast with some beans. There were 3 extremely rude and aggressive old men running this place. They never acknowledge you but regularly start shouting in Greek at children and guests for extremely minor things such as somebody who had sunburn wore a t shirt in the pool. I witnessed a guest being shouted at because she asked for ketchup and one of the old men brought mayonnaise by mistake. My children were very upset watching this so we spent as little time as possible there for the first week. As our spending money got low we were forced to spend more time there. I felt it was quite unbearable. If i had the money I would have moved hotels. I visit Greece with my family at least once a year and have never seen service as bad as this. It really was the worst holiday I have ever been on.On our last day one of the old men was actually checking all the sheets for stains in front of the guest who were in the process of checking out. This resulted in an argument and tug of war between himself and the cleaner over whether guests should be charged. This could almost be funny like a sketch from Fawlty Towers but bear in mind your yearly family holiday is ruined. Folks you deserve better than this.
This is the worst place I have ever stayed in what an absolute dump!!! The place was stuck in the middle of a field pitch black at night no lighting around it nothing. The management were really ignorant and rude when we arrived no welcome just a demand to pay the tax to stay wouldn't help with our luggage nothing. Got into the room it was swarming with mosquitos the bedding was just one dirty sheet to cover me and my mother it was horrendous the kitchen plates cups etc were filthy and only fit for the bin. As for the bathroom all tiles cracked main shower tray cracked a shower on the wall you had to hand hose yourself down with freezing cold water the whole 2 weeks shower curtain held up with a peice of wire from the ceiling. Because we arrived late we decided to leave it till morning to contact travel republic to ask to be moved to a different hotel. After waiting a full day we was told everywhere was full and was nowhere else to move us to. We did our best to spend as less time as we could at this hotel our complaint didnt make a blind bit of difference. It has made us not want to return to tigaki against alone this hotel was a horrible 14 days of hell never again
