As a couple we booked this hotel after reading the excellent reviews. The Agrelli family are welcoming and friendly as are all the staff. We were in a twin room, although small it had everything we needed and spotlessly clean. It had a small fridge, kettle and safe deposit box (small supplement)As you will read in most of the reviews it was difficult to not soak the bathroom floor when showering, typical for Greece. Breakfast is greek continental, toast, crossaints, ham, cheese, boiled eggs, tomatoes, cucumber, yogurt, fruit(tinned),jam, marmalade, fruit juice,tea/coffee and sponge cake. The pool area is small but very nice.We only stayed once as we prefer the beach, there always appeared to be sun loungers available. The hotel is in a good location approx 5 min walk to the nearest beach which was a small cove and a little rocky a further 10min walk along the front and past the harbour will get you to a sandy larger beach. The sun loungers are free to customers of the beach front taverna's.There is a supermarket less than 5 min walk from the hotel and a restuarant (Sun Mediterranean) and bar nearby, Kos town is approx 45min bus ride away, the bus stop is approx a 10min walk along the main road, it is worth a visit it has plenty of history shops bars and taverna's.We would definately recommend this hotel.
I stayed at this hotel as a solo guest for two weeks from 1-Oct-19 to 15-Oct-19. My decision to stay at the Agrelli Imperial Hotel was strongly influenced by the many positive reviews I had read on TripAdvisor.
The hotel is officially 3 star rated. Based on my experience staying at the Agrelli Imperial, I give this hotel 4 stars. I therefore recommend staying at the Agrelli Imperial to other prospective visitors to Kardamena, Kos.
My ground floor twin bedroom (Room 1) was well maintained and kept spotlessly clean by the wonderful maids. I had a street view which took some getting used to, but after a couple of days I soon adjusted - it was interesting watching people go by, locals and tourists alike. I might add that the balcony was fairly spacious and a rack for drying clothes came in really handy. The room itself was basic, perhaps slightly on the small side. However, this didn't bother me at all as there was only myself. The fridge was a good size and a kettle was also provided. A Samsung flat screen TV was also in the room, although I didn't switch it on - I came on holiday to get away from TV, especially any news from the UK! As several reviewers have stated, the design and build of the bathroom meant that it was impossible to take a shower without flooding the bathroom floor (which drained away in due course). I thought the bathroom was on the small side, but I soon got used to it.
Free Wi-Fi is also available in all the rooms as well as all other parts of the hotel. I would say the Wi-Fi is adequate, perhaps a bit on the slow side at times with the connection occasionally dropping. I suggest the hotel should invest in faster, better quality Wi-Fi.
In my opinion, the biggest asset and selling point of this hotel is undoubtedly its staff, all of whom were very welcoming, friendly, polite, helpful and professional. Nothing was ever too much trouble for any of them. Every one of them deserves my praises in equal measure. As a solo guest, I was quickly made to feel very welcome from the first day of my holiday. The hotel is a small and friendly family run hotel with only 45 rooms. This really suited me. The ambience of the whole place was so relaxed and informal. The family, particularly David and George (the sons), went out of their way to make everyone feel at home. The barman Tass was also so friendly and great company. He made me feel at ease from day one. Maria (Mari) on reception was also a wonderful ambassador for the hotel. She was so pleasant to all guests. Poppy at the pool bar was great - she is very friendly and always walks around with a smile on her face. There are others who deserve my praises, not least all the cleaners. Not only was my room cleaned to a high standard, the entire hotel was spotless. Well done cleaners!
The pool is small, make no mistake about it. I only used the pool on 4 occasions, each time for a quick dip to cool off. Finding a sun lounger was no problem, although this was during the first two weeks in October. Perhaps during peak season, I might have had difficulty finding a space?
Breakfast was adequate, if limited regarding choice. A couple of times I also had lunchtime snacks at the pool bar. The food was nice. Prices at the pool bar are only slightly higher than outside.
First class at all times by all members of staff.
There isn't one! Many guests check out of the hotel at 12 noon, but have departing flights several hours later at night. These guests can shower and change in the hotel's toilet. I think the hotel should improve this situation by establishing a dedicated courtesy room for guests. I must point out that although my own flight was not until 22.00, I took the option of paying an additional 25 Euros to keep my room until 19.00.
I liked the holiday resort of Kardamena. The hotel is conveniently situated, only a 5 minute walk to the beach and about a 10 minute walk to the resort centre. The hotel is also very close (1 minute walk) to Manos supermarket and the very good Sun Mediterranean restaurant.
In summary, I wouldn't hesitate to recommend this excellent value-for-money hotel to others. Agrelli Imperial definitely has a winning formula, thanks to two main factors in my opinion - its friendly staff and the fact that it's a small and informal family run hotel with a very pleasant and relaxed ambience. This is also evidenced by the high number of repeat guests I met during my stay.
Just got back from our first holiday in KOS. Chose this holiday via Jet2 website and we could not fault it. The family that own/run the hotel are the most kind and generous people we have met for a long time. Their work ethic is absolutely amazing and would put most Brit's to shame! The hotel, food, people and location is excellent. The beach is a short walk from the hotel, as is the small town. Full of restaurant's, bars and shops. There is no pressure to eat anywhere or buy anything. The hotel itself is very clean, bright and welcoming and the pool area, although small, is immaculate and the pool is sparkly clean. Over all we cant fault it. !! We now understand why so many people that we spoke to said that they use hotel year after year and it is because of the lovely family and staff, from Mary on reception to Poppy who cooks in the pool bar, Tazz who serves us drinks in the bar in the evening to Marco, Fortini, David and George. Home from home and would recommend it to anyone !!!
