Ikos Olivia is a luxury hotel in the seaside resort of Gerakini, in the Halkidiki peninsula of northern Greece. It's steps from the sandy shores of Gerakini beach. It has five outdoor swimming pools and a heated indoor pool, along with four smaller pools for children. You'll have poolside and beach waiter service, so you can order drinks and snacks from your sun lounger for complete relaxation. You can dine at the seven restaurants, which offer a range of international dishes throughout the day. The hotel also has six bars to choose from, including one at the beach and another by the pool. It sits in flat gardens with olive trees. Renovated in 2017, the buildings have classic whitewashed exteriors, with the occasional splash of grey. You'll find light and airy bedrooms, with bold feature walls and tiled floors. At Ikos Olivia, you can spend the day at the spa. You'll also be able to book beauty and wellness treatments, including manicures and pedicures. If you're feeling energetic, you could play tennis, try beach volleyball or attend an aqua aerobics class in the pool. You can also play basketball, table tennis and football. After dark, you can watch the evening entertainment, which often features live shows.
Ikos Olivia can be found in the centre of Gerakini, where you'll be able to look for souvenirs at the shops and wander across the waterfront. The hotel is steps away from traditional Greek tavernas, open-air restaurants and beach bars. You can pick up holiday essentials at the local supermarket, which is 200m from the hotel. Further afield, it's 17km to the resort of Nea Moudania. It hosts one of the region's most popular markets, where you'll find rows of stalls selling local produce such as fresh honey, bottles of ouzo, and sweet baklava.
You can visit the Greek a la carte restaurant, which is open for breakfast, lunch and dinner. You'll be able to dine at the Asian and Italian a la carte restaurants. The bars serve a selection of internationally branded alcohol, along with soft drinks and bottled water.
At Ikos Olivia, you can keep fit at the gym. Children can attend the kids' club and teens' club, which both organise regular activities.

We had been looking forward to visiting Ikos Olivia for a long time. We’d originally booked for May 2020, but due to Covid had to cancel. This was part of our honeymoon and everything from the reservations team right through to the Hotel Manager Liza made our stay absolutely amazing. We had requested a one bedroom bungalow with pool view room and lots of afternoon sun. Liza placed us in a spectacular room which had the best view abs most importantly, lots of afternoon sun. Our garden was spacious and there was plenty of room for our little one to run around. There was a slight issue with some of the plumbing in the bathroom and Liza not only came to see to the matter personally but was also so quick to provide us with 3 options, one being upgraded to a room with a private pool. This room was stunning I highly recommend booking this room in the deluxe area.
The restaurants were great. Anaya had fantastic food, full of flavour and they were always accommodating with our little one. The views from both Ouzo and Fresca were spectacular especially the sunsets. The staff at Ouzo were exceptional, accommodating any dietary requirements we had and also squeezing us in a couple of times. We preferred the breakfast at Provence, even though the restaurant only had a pool view.
We had stayed at Porto Sani the week before, which was a completely different experience (in an extremely good way). At Ikos, it was nice not to have to think about what’s included/not included in the menus and drinks. This along with Liza’s amazing service and exceptional management of the resort are the 2 reasons why we will return with our extended family.
This was our 2nd visit here in 2020 due to cancellations/rearrangements because of Covid. How lucky are we.
We have already completed a review for our visit in August so will keep this one short, but felt the hotel deserve the additional review.
Visiting at the end of the season (Oct Half Term) you're not quite sure what to expect and what the standards will be. We didn't have to worry, everything was available and the same standards as August. Everything was amazing. We had the best experience in very difficult (for the staff) circumstances.
The staff are the best we have ever come across and are really beautiful people. They are so consistent in their service and really care about each guest. They have faced a huge challenge this year and have pulled it off amazingly. We thanked many before we left, but again, thank you.
Absolutely lovely hotel with great service, very friendly. Nikolitsa was very helpful and friendly. All the stuff was super helpful. Good variety of food and good rooms. Amazing beach and lot of beach activities. Great for children. Very good spa treatments. Social distancing is everywhere so felt very secure.I am looking forward visiting this hotel again as soon as we are allowed to.
