Aquila Rithymna Beach

An ideal choice for a holiday in Greece, this hotel is situated on a 500-metre long sandy beach and offers an unbeatable alternative between the blue waters of the Aegean and the convenience of the hotel pools, shaped like little islands. Additional activities for the more athletic travellers include tennis and parasailing in the area. After a day filled with sun, water and excitement, guests can enjoy a pre-dinner ouzo on their private balcony or on the shared veranda overlooking the sparkling sea. The main restaurant serves delicious Greek and international specialities, and regular themed evenings are organised, like ‘Cretan Evening', ‘Lobster Dinner' or ‘Fish Festival', complete with live entertainment on the stage.

Nice Holidays on Crete
Nov 2020 |

We stayed end of October at the Hotel Aquila Rithymna Beach. Nice location on a very long Beach, Bungalow on the beachfront with direct sea view, great sundowns.

Very friendly staff all over the Hotel! Staff really cares about the guests. We had a treat to have Stelios as our "personal" Somelier and waiter who made our holidays even better! Thank you Mr. Stelios for excellent wine recommendations and recommendations for tours!!

The whole Hotel is very clean, so was our bungalow, although it needed an update for the 5th star.

We always felt safe during Corona.

All in all: cost/performance ratio is spot on (rate in low season was really low!!). Our holidays were great and relaxed and we will be back next year (if possible).

Can't really understand the good ratings
Oct 2020 |

Bathrooms are horrible, at least those in the Bungalows. Rooms in general definitely not 5 star standard, max 3 star.

We are half way through our 2 weeks stay. Since 3 days the hotel got extremely full.

Long queues for breakfast and dinner.

Horrible, especially when with young kids.

For breakfast we need more than 1 hour to get done so we are missing the 0-3 years activity at the baby club. It's a pity.

We booked all inclusive to be stress free but we have no other option where to eat apart from the bistro.

For eating fries all the time we paid way too much.

I hope management will do something asap because guests are not happy like this.

Brilliant time
Sep 2020 |

Just come back from this hotel with my husband, mum, brother and sister-in-law and have nothing but praise for the staff and management. They did their very best to make sure we felt safe and happy whilst still smiling. The service we got was excellent especially in the lounge bar on an evening . Unfortunately I do not know the waiter who served us every night but he had the most infectious laugh and made my mums holiday. But, that level of service was given by everyone we met. The hotel had done their very best in what continues to be a challenging time. The quality of the food offered was good and varied, the Greek night was my favourite. One of the few hotels that managed to give e soft boiled eggs!! Minor point but I like them. The rooms were clean (personally would have liked a few more drawers but that’s me that takes too many clothes) and the shower was excellent. For the most part the vast majority of guests obeyed all the rules set out over distancing. There were hand sanitizers all over the hotel and guests reminded by staff to use them. Mum uses a wheelchair and was able to access all areas. The manager walked around the hotel every day and had a word with most guests which was appreciated. We will be returning. Why Crete is on the government’s list I have no idea.
