Alexander Beach Hotel & Village

Alexander Beach Hotel & Village is on the beach on the north east coast of the Greek island of Crete. It's a short walk from the village of Stalis, and within walking distance of the bustling resort of Malia. The hotel offers a wide range of activities for the whole family, from sports to spa treatments, in addition to its beachfront location. The hotel has a garden and a pool area where you can sunbathe, swim or join in with the hotel-run class for some aqua aerobics. Down on the sandy beach, you'll find a shallow shore that's suitable for children to splash about, as well as the option to try your hand at other sports, including beach volleyball. There's also a gym, and there's aerobics classes, squash, basketball, tennis and football on offer. Alternatively, if you're in need of some relaxation, you can enjoy the heated indoor pool or visit the hotel spa, where you can unwind with one of the beauty and wellness treatments available. In the evenings, the hotel puts on live entertainment, or you could play a few games of darts, table tennis or pool. For a livelier time, you could walk into Malia and enjoy the town's famous nightlife.

Alexander Beach Hotel & Village is on Alexander Beach itself. It's a 1km walk from Stalis, and 2km from Malia. Stalis is a former fishing village that is now a favourite with holidaymakers for its sandy beach, variety of shops and restaurants, and visitor attractions for the whole family, from water parks to golf courses. The Dimokratias strip in Malia is the place to go if you're looking for lively nightlife, and you'll find bars and clubs open from the early evening right through the night. Malia also has popular beaches, as well as a more peaceful Old Town to explore.

There are five bars at Alexander Beach Hotel & Village, including a pool bar, a beach bar, a lounge bar and a sushi bar. The hotel has a buffet restaurant and an a la carte restaurant, as well as a mini market where you can pick up snacks and supplies.

The hotel has a kids' club and runs a kids' entertainment programme six times a week. There is also a playground, playroom, games room and kids' disco.

Rooms at Alexander Beach Hotel & Village have tiled floors, a private balcony or terrace, individually controlled air conditioning, and satellite TV.

Wonderful Place!
Oct 2020 |

This was the most wonderful hotel, stunning inside and out with beautiful gardens. The staff were brilliant - very friendly and helpful. The food was wonderful, freshly cooked and so tasty. The whole place was really clean and it had great facilities. The pools were really good and the spa was excellent, I had a few treatments with Sofia who was amazing.

The manager Michael was also amazing. I had an accident on 1st day, not the hotel's fault yet I received 1st class treatment and care from Michael and the staff. They went above and beyond and I really appreciated their kindness & courtesy.

The room was nice and big, the beds very comfortable. We had guests too in the form of local cats which was great for me being a cat lover. Whether you like cats or not this is one fabulous hotel & village and I fully recommend it. Can't wait to go back.

perfect
Oct 2020 |

The resort is directly on the beach including 6 pools. The welcome at the reception is friendly and profesional. We asked kindly for a quiet room and Costas organized it. The whole hotel is perfect and clean. There are many places to eat , we enjoyed the beach restaurant where Janis , Christina and Anastasia took good care of us. The food quality and choice is great and price reasonable. Breakfast and dinner at main restaurant is with a lot of choice and good quality. We also appreciated the courtesy taxi to bring us to the Alexander Beach. Thank you for a memorable holiday.

Safe & Outstanding
Sep 2020 |

My wife and I have just spent another nine glorious days in the Alexander Beach Hotel & Village, this was our second visit to this beautiful hotel and it won’t be our last (our previous trip was in 2019 prior to Covid 19). My last review about the Alexander detailed all aspects of the hotel such as the location, number of pools, bars etc and it was very positive hence our return visit. This time around I would only have one very minor negative point to make, the resort have introduced a new measure whereby a plastic chain is placed around all the pools between the hours of 18:00 hours to 10:00 hours, the chains appear pointless plus they are ugly and certainly detract from this beautiful resort.

As a result of the pandemic there have been some changes made on site since our last visit including;

the self serve buffet has been amended so that servers put the food on your plate to stop all the holiday makers touching all the utensils and thus preventing the transmission of any virus.

- the main pool bar has closed though there are two other pool bars open.

the bar adjacent to the road is closed.

- in addition there are multiple measures in place to keep all holiday makers safe, all staff where face masks at all times, there is plenty of access to hand sanitiser and everyone on site is encouraged to social distance. It should be noted that holiday makers are not required to wear masks whilst on site.

Overall we felt extremely safe whilst staying at the Alexander and we would highly recommend this beautiful resort to all our family and friends, enjoy!
