We just book this hotel as our stay in France it was central for visiting all the places we wanted to see. On arrival we was greater by reception staff very friendly and told they did open snacks from 12 o'clock until 2 in the morning free for all guests there was cake tortilla chips croissant, lots of sweets coffee and tea all day, Tropicana juice, ice tea, cola water. We was also told of the other sister hotels in the area which we could use for the same snacks and drinks while we was on our travels around Paris, not only that if it is raining you can also pick up an umbrella to keep you dry. Rooms small but clean same as hotel very clean you can also book breakfast. Very nice hotel would recommend
We (two couples) stayed two nights at the Astotel George. Prices not too steep for Paris and worth hunting around for a deal if they come up. The rooms were up in the eaves on the 6th floor and decorated in the quirky style that the hotel chain has adopted. The lift was a bit slow, but there is a great staircase all the way up through the centre of the building if you fancy keeping fit. Like most Paris hotels, the rooms were a bit on the small side but very clean and also came with the benefit of a free minibar of non alcoholic drinks which was very welcome. Breakfasts are of a high standard with plenty of choice for everyone whether you like a cooked breakfast or something lighter. The only negative was that the staff on duty when we stayed were a bit on the surly side. The location of the hotel is good and the immediate area has plenty of shops, bars and cafes to choose from and is also not too far from Montmartre if that's part of your itinerary. The only major downside to our visit was the building works which were going on - all of the reception and ground floor is currently in the process of a refurb so with all the heavy duty plastic sheeting, it looks more like a crime site. A shame really because although it will look great when finished, it did rather scupper use of the lounge area (although there was seating made available and refreshments too if you wanted it). That said, when we voiced our disappointment, the hotel did put things right and gave us the second night free, so from that point of view, they couldn't have done any better and we were very pleased that they acknowledged what we'd said. We've used Astotels in Paris on a number of occasions and they certainly have something which many other hotels don't - ambiance, attention to detail and what seems like a genuine interest in the customer's experience. Will be staying again I'm sure.
We have a favorite room. My husband and I have walking problems. Like the free drinks in room. LIke the snacks in the evening. Convienent location, not tourist spot but easy to get around Paris. Brought family members over this year. Teen age girls loved it. Too bad about strike.
