Hidden behind a curtain of spruce trees at 1,460 metres, Club Med Valmorel is a beautiful all-inclusive resort perfect for ski-breaks, spa retreats and family summer holidays in the mountains. Known as ‘Valmorel la Belle’, it’s a simply beautiful little village which has retained its charm partly thanks to being located off the radar of many holidaymakers.
Experience the heart of Savoy
Set in the Tarentaise Valley, if you prefer authenticity over concrete then you’ll spend a happy week or so enjoying brilliant sport, long walks alongside enchanting mountain lakes and a place that combines modern convenience with old fashioned Alpine warmth.
Take a trip to the edge of a forest on the side of the Cheval Noir Mountain. Here you’ll find Valmorel, a mini-time machine of courtyards, side streets and chalets, made from traditional materials rather than steel and glass.
In the summer, wander the valleys with mountain guides, soak up the alpine air cycling along forest trails, then indulge with dinner prepared by the ‘maître de chalet’ at your private dining table.
The ski area around Valmorel is generally family-friendly with plenty of green and blue runs. If you’re looking for something more challenging ask an expert to accompany you to the Massif de la Lauzière. You’ll pretty much have the slopes to yourself as its daunting reputation puts off all but the bravest skiers.
Tour down a tree-lined route to the small village of Doucy and explore its charms before heading back up the incline to carry on with your fun. Watch the kids sled in the snow garden, race down the Grand Domaine slopes or snowshoe across the Aigueblanche valley. In the evening, play in the indoor pool then delight your taste buds with a variety of gourmet savoyard dishes.
The village is sleepy but stimulating with a full street of modern shops and places for you and the family to picnic. The lack of cars makes it a refreshing break from the worries of modern life.

At one with nature
For a truly luxurious escape in Valmorel, book one of the elegant suites in the 5? Exclusive Collection space, Le Lodge, complete with a dedicated ski room, room service breakfasts and champagne from 6pm. In the morning, savour the deliciously flaky croissants served in your suite with views over the peaks.
The arched windows, the stone, the wood: this collection of traditional mountain dwellings is utterly charming. As are the rooms: the feeling of coming back to a modern yet cosy space after a day out in the mountains is hard to beat.
The Cerfs and The Céleste restaurants are in tune with the season, each with its own distinct beauty. The terraces open from mid-March, with the first wild flowers. In the winter season, enjoy the best of après-ski dining overlooking beautiful mountain vistas from a warm and welcoming dining room. The contemporary decor adds a funky touch to the traditional mountain chalet interior. Whatever the time of day or year, the restaurant serves a wide range of freshly cooked, international cuisine.

It was an amazing week in Valmorel where we greeted the New Year. The whole experience was amazing and even know looks surreal considering current travel restrictions. We travelled there with another family from US. We were family of 5 and had 2 connecting rooms.
Everything exceeded our expectations - losing, service, food and we were blown away by the entertainment. Food just kept getting every night. Kids enjoyed the kids club and the dinner service and adults enjoyed the dinners.
Hotel is easy to navigate with great ski in/ski out service. Staff were extremely pleasant and engaging.
Kids did have bit more challenge communicating in the kids club but on the other hand french immersion experience was also good for them. It also made us english speakers seek out each other inadvertently and we made some good friends that way. Certainly recommend daily activities for both kids and adults as that makes you form some great friendships and adds to the experience.
Will look to be back
I recently spent a week in Club Med in Valmorel with my partner. From the moment we arrived (and even prior to our arrival) we were treated so well, especially by Emma the head receptionist and her team. All the staff throughout the stay were extremely helpful, fun and friendly. The entertainment was super fun, the food and activities were both excellent. We did not bring our children this time but having seen the amazing time the other kids there were having in the kids’ club we will definitely be back again with them next year! All in all a super holiday in a beautiful mountain setting with tons to do activity wise (but also a great place to relax too). 5 stars from us!
Excellent stay at Club Med, high quality service and activities. Special recognition to the mountain bike teams Fabien, Sebastien and Babar for having made us discover and enjoy this demanding activity.
Tristan is an amazing GO, who helped us to find out amazing sceneries during out power walks. His energy and passion were precious.
Except the rush hours at the restaurant and the little lack of organization at the check out, all was perfect for the parents and the kids.
Great times, we all feel rejuvenated and relax.
Thank you guys, we’ll come back.
