Hotel Inglaterra Havana (ex Gran Caribe Inglaterra) is a simple colonial-style hotel in the heart of the old town district of Havana, Cuba. The hotel, which is one of the oldest in the city, was declared a National Monument of Cuban Heritage and has a very distinct retro feel about it. There's a rooftop terrace and in the restaurant, traditional Cuban music is played every day. Hotel Inglaterra Havana (ex Gran Caribe Inglaterra) is directly in front of the central park, and a short walk away from the Capitolio. It's within walking distance of a wide selection of supermarkets, bars and restaurants. The Museum of the Revolution, which used to be the presidential palace of Cuba, is also a short walk away from the hotel. You can go there to view exhibits of the Cuban revolution, while you can also see Fidel Castro's old yacht. Morro Castle is a short drive away, which is a huge fortress overlooking Havana Bay. The closest beach to the hotel is a day trip away in Havana del Este. Here, you'll find Playas del Este, which includes a number of sandy beaches. There are various restaurants and bars dotted along the beaches in this area of Cuba.
Inglaterra is right in the middle of Old Havana, which means you'll be able to visit shops and attractions on foot. The Grand Theatre of Havana is 63m away, which is now home to the Cuban National Ballet and the International Ballet Festival of Havana. Havana Cathedral is 1.3km away from the hotel, while Havana Harbour is around 9.2km away. If you fancy venturing out of the city, you can drive over to Jibacoa, which is a popular resort that's set in the Cuban countryside. Here, you can find a range of sandy beaches, and there's also a coral reef.
Inglaterra has a restaurant that offers a buffet for breakfast and dinner is served from a menu, while there's also a grill bar. You can get alcoholic and non-alcoholic drinks on the roof terrace, or you can go into the old town and visit the many bars and restaurants available there.
You can enjoy the views from the hotel's rooftop terrace, or listen to the musical entertainment in the hotel's bar and restaurant.
In your air conditioned room at Inglaterra you can relax with a drink from your minibar. All rooms have a satellite TV.

Usually doormen are not very friendy in Cuba but the worst must be at hotel Inglaterra and this is unacceptable for such a hotel.
I bought a wifi card at the desk then wanted to sit down in the lobby for 5mn and at this time of the morning there was nobody and no other guests there.
As soon as I sit down the doorman came to me and said if I m not a guest I couldnt stay there
I told him I will stay only 5 mn and I wasnt disturbing anybody anyway but he insisted and was very arrogant.
How do you sell wifi cards at the desk and having a wifi that everybody can access and then treat customers like that?
I was having drinks and meals at the terrace of this hotel before but since then never again
Teach your doorman how to behave please!
Every time we are in Havana , this is our go to spot..lively patio in beautiful hotel..
For a more intimate time..i suggest the hotels London bars outside side patio...or the rooftop terrace bar .
Food and drinks are excellent and oh what a view..
We did not stay as guests at this hotel but stopped in once for a beverage on the rooftop terrace and then for a meal. We'd heard about the salsa dancing on the terrace and enjoyed the lively music. But our server was quite rude.
The next visit was to the covered patio at the entrance to the hotel. Again, our server didn't seem to be interested in giving even mediocre service. The meals, when they arrived after nearly an hour of waiting, were dry and not appetizing.
Dine elsewhere, there are lots of choices nearby.
