Hilton Santa Maria is a luxury beachfront hotel in Cape Verde. The C-shaped hotel building wraps around its gardens and family pool area, with the open side leading out through the palm trees and onto the beach. The pool bar is just steps from the sand, where you can relax with a drink while enjoying the view. Other leisure facilities at the resort include the hotel spa and gym. In the evenings, you can have dinner in the buffet restaurant, and relax with a drink in the bar. For extra holiday atmosphere, you could try the beachside a la carte restaurant. As for the hotel's modern bedrooms, they're light and minimalist with wooden accents. Luxury toiletries are provided. Hilton Santa Maria is in the resort of Santa Maria, on the sandy southern tip of Sal Island. Sal is a tourist destination in Cape Verde, an independent island archipelago on West Africa's Atlantic coast. The hotel is within walking distance of the resort centre. Aside from the beach, you can explore the island's history and the unusual Pedra de Lume, a salt lake inside the crater of an extinct volcano in the north of the island.
The hotel is on the beach and 1.2km from the centre of the resort. Sal is one of 10 islands in the Republic of Cape Verde, off the north western coast of Africa, and popularly known as the continent's answer to the Caribbean. The entire island is less than 30km long, and 12km across at its widest point, so many of its attractions are within easy reach. You could explore Sal's salt flats, which made it an important stop on central Atlantic trade routes. The main language on the island is Portuguese, with its cuisine and architecture inspired by Brazil, Portugal and the neighbouring countries of mainland West Africa.
The hotel's beachfront a la carte restaurant is open for lunch and dinner, and you can dine with views of the Atlantic Ocean. The buffet restaurant welcomes guests for breakfast and dinner. The hotel is also home to a pool bar offering light snacks and grilled dishes, and an evening bar hosting live local musicians.
Spa treatments and facilities are available. The hotel also has a kids' club and playroom, and a dedicated children's pool area along with the main pool.
Large and lush pool area that overlooks the beautiful beach. The smaller children's pool is secluded near the children's club.
All bedrooms at Hilton Santa Maria have centrally controlled air conditioning. Rooms have safes, TVs with local channels and balconies or terraces.

A fantastic hotel and one of the nicest well set out hotels I have ever stayed in !
Unfortunately I found the staff under trained and although very friendly I have had much better !
I was ill with the food for two days in the Magellan restaurant and I did let them know but only got a cursory “ I’m sorry about that “!
I booked a massage for my wife and I and once again they messed the timings up and on check out day they offered a 20 % discount for the massages .
All in all a beautifully set out hotel , no trouble with sun beds and a room to die for !
Unfortunately I came home feeling more stressed than before we went !
We stayed in room 2031, King pool view and it was really nice, in fact we think it is one of the nicest rooms we ever stayed in during our worldly travels (only lacking dressing robes to make it perfect). The bed was soooo comfy with a memory foam top. The bathroom lovely and included a bath, but we were happy with the shower. Nice toiletries, air-con' was fine (on max'), decor very tasteful (as it was throughout the whole hotel public areas), plenty of TV channels in English. The housekeeping staff came round early evening to offer toiletry refills, which was a nice touch. We had booked directly on the breakfast deal and were impressed by the variety and quality. We found the prices a little steep for other meals and drinks, but the main town is only a 15 minute walk along the beach front and a €3 taxi ride back. The beach in front of the hotel was the nicest section of shoreline we saw along from the town, but the sea was too rough to swim in when we were there. The hotel pool is very large, but like other hotels here on the island it was nippy to swim in during March and only a few brave souls made use of it. There were plenty of comfortable loungers and umbrellas by both the pool and the beach. The pool towels are large and fluffy and are issued against cards issued during check-in. The hotel appeared about a third full when we were there. The gym was above average and fitness classes were available.
The grounds are full of mature trees, lawns and bushes which are well manicured. The receptionist was very helpful and arranged a later checkout to fit better with our flight home. Would definitely stay here again if we return to Sal.
Clean, friendly, comfortable, accessible and more sustainable. I did sneak next door to Robinson’s but was disappointed. They used too many plastic straws in my drink and were disorganised.
Breakfast was perfect at Hilton and all their restaurants are great. That seafood grill is amazing. Kudos to that hard-working chef. Just 1 recommendation to guests...if you want to sleep in, put up the do not disturb sign. Housekeeping comes early. Otherwise, thanks Hilton. I made the right choice staying there.
