What a fantastic family resort! My family has been to resorts all around the world, desperately trying to find a resort with the activities and service of the resorts found in Mexico. This resort is the first one we have been to that we can say compares, especially for the cost. Our 3 young boys, ages 6, 4, and 2 had the time of their lives, as did my wife and I. Here is our review of several categories.
Pools (10/10) - Both adult and child pools are very well-maintained, clean, and heated in the winter. The kids slides and splash pad are absolutely awesome. Not a single complaint about the pools. I read reviews about the ground by the pools being too slippery but from our experience it’s not much different than what we experienced at other resorts. That said, definitely have shoes/flip-flops ready to wear once you exit the pool to help with sliding (I definitely almost fell a few times).
Standalone bars (10/10) - They all have self-serve beer, wine, cafe, sodas, juices, water, and ice. They are kept very clean and well maintained. Not a single complaint.
Regular bars both out by pool and inside (10/10) - Friendly and quick service and a good variety of drinks.
Buffet (7.3/10) – I typically rate most Resort buffets as a 6, so this was definitely a step up. It’s hard to cook that much food and maintain top quality, so I never expect to be blown away by a resort’s buffet. It’s good enough and at every resort I seem to find a few items on the buffet that I consider very good, so I tend to go back to them. Again, I personally would not let this rating distract you from choosing this resort, as you likely won’t find anything better, especially in this price range. In fact, you’ll likely find it a small step down at most of the other resorts.
Restaurants (8.8/10) - Very good service and food. The service was attentive and the food of very good quality. We only make it to the the Italian and Japanese restaurants, so I cannot speak to the Steak restaurant. The pizza at the Italian restaurant was very good and you can tell they take pride in it by their beautiful pizza ovens. The pasta was average but our kids loved it. My wife and I thought the desserts at the Italian restaurant we excellent and perhaps the best part of our meal (all the meal was very good but the desserts were excellent.) We went to the Italian restaurant twice. Our appetizers and main dishes at the Asian restaurant were very good and of very nice portion sizes. Everything was tasty and the service was great. Unfortunately, we were rushing to get to the nightly show so we did not get time to try the desserts.
Kids entertainment (10/10) - From the time we arrived for check-in until the time we departed, the kids entertainment team was fantastic. Upon check-in they had a magician/entertainer in the lobby to entertain the kids while the parents waited for check-in. This was a very first for us at any resort, as we are used to waiting for 15 mins – 1 hour in line with our kids, which is extremely difficult, as the kids get restless after about 5 minutes. It took us a total of approximately 30 minutes after arrival to complete the check-in process and our kids were entertained the whole time. In fact, they were very upset when we pulled them away from watching a few magic tricks to go get lunch. I don’t think the kid’s entertainers are in the lobby all day but from what I observed during our week there, they try to be there during the busiest check-in times. I wish every resort would adopt this practice, as it makes a parent’s life much easier, especially after a long flight. Beyond check-in, the kids entertainers were equally as attentive and entertaining. They showed up at random times in the pool areas and always greeted you. They always remembered our kids and often gave them personal entertainment for a few minutes, which they loved. Also, the kids activities throughout the week were great.
Kids childcare (can’t rate) – I can’t speak much to this, as we only dropped our two oldest boys off at the kids club for 3 hours on our last day there (must be 3 or older to go to the kids camp). When we picked them up, they seemed to love it and wanted to go back (unfortunately, we departed the resort a few hours later so they were unable to go back).
Adult entertainment (10/10) - Simply amazing. It’s a tie for the best entertainment we have had at over 20+ resorts around the world. The resort had World-class performers and shows, in a comfortable theater. The bar in the theater looked great but it was closed for COVID, understandably so. I could write a full page about the nightly shows but don’t want to ruin it for everyone and it’s also possible the shows will be different when you go. Seriously, DO NOT miss the shows. Our kids loved them equally as much as us. Even our 2-year-old sat through the nightly 45-minute shows without moving an inch 😊
The rooms (10/10) – Of course it depends on the category of room you reserve but for the price we paid, it’s the nicest room we have had at any resort we visited as a family. Excellent shower and bath, double sinks, nice little balcony, good refrigerator, and comfortable beds. The room was also very spacious. When we entered the room, they had already converted the pull-out couch into a bed with an extra cot at the bottom. It was perfect for our family of five.
It is very rare we return to the same resort twice (except for one we absolutely love in Mexico); however, this is one we will definitely return to during our remaining 2 ½ years living in Spain. We very highly recommend this resort!
Just to let you know I booked 3days in this hotel 15-18 February it was to be a treat to ourselves as we already had an apartment booked in Golf del Sur from 18 January - 15 February. We bought a voucher when they were looking for people to prepay a future booking we bought it in April 20 thinking we were helping them out, but we found out on social media that the hotel was closed on our dates.
So I contacted the Bahia group as they cannot fulfil my holiday dates they’re breaking the contract, now they’re saying I never used the vouchers which is a lie, if they checked there booking system for the Fantasia they would see the booking there, so now they are saying I have up till the 31/5/21 to use it as it’s non refundable. My point is I’ve already used the voucher for those dates so I should get a refund, it’s them who cannot fulfil the contract. I would like to warn people if they don’t open their hotels you’ll not get a refund they’ll try and get you to move till a later date. I think a hotel group this size are treating their clients disgracefully especially in this Covid climate. To say I’m disgusted and disgruntled is an understatement I will never return to the Bahia group, ever.
All the service is wonderful. They perfectly comply with the covid measures. Very tasty and healthy food. The Resrot is spectacular, the location is very good to visit beautiful places.
But without a doubt the best thing was THE SHOW that the hotel offers from PERFORDANCE, I really didn't expect it and I was overwhelmed by the beauty, the art, and the good energy that it transmitted to me. There are no words to describe it
