We originally booked for 12 days and ended up staying 31 days ! We felt so at home here , Covid protocols were beyond what we expected and sun-bed booking was great ! What makes this establishment stand out is its staff I’m sure they must have been to charm school , always happy to help and have a chat when they weren’t busy .
The apartments are spacious and very well equipped and most have lovely sea views . The pools and staff looking after you at the pool are great . I really like Golf Del Sur lovely walks and quieter than Las Americas it has a more homely feel . Some of the hotel facilities and restaurants were shut but that was expected during coronavirus . We were just happy to get away . Thank you .
Came here for a week in the sun with my brother and liked it so much that 9 days after returning home, I came back before travel restrictions began, to stay for most of the winter!
The Staff here are the most helpful and friendly that I have ever encountered, without exception. In particular though, I would like to give a special mention to Hector and Jennifer from the reception team, Anna from the on site supermarket and Jitka and Lia from the pool bar are all lovely people who are a key part of the Santa Barbara experience.
Accommodation is clean and modern (some more than others). Covid protocols are well organised. Sea views are stunning as situated right on the front line of the coast.
Main restaurant and bar are closed during Covid restrictions but there is a pool bar which serves good food and a selection of good eateries within waking distance.
Okay so we visited during covid times, just managed to get into Tenerife when the boarders were letting you but you needed the tests.
So tests all done....
Arrived at the hotel very warm welcome, tests checked for negative results and email to hotel for them to keep on file. Everyone has the temp checked. They check your temperature every time you enter the hotel for the stay.. personally found this reassuring as if there was anyone with covid symptoms they would know quickly.
Baggage was sprayed with sanitiser.
Checkin was fast, they took a card for the deposit as already confirmed.
They explained that due to covid you had to book the sunbeds round the pool for a morning or afternoon slot.
You can download the app and communicate that way as well.
Hotel - lots of facilities were shut during our stay but the pool bar was open. Only had a couple of drinks, not sure why you have to leave a €1 deposit for you’re cup but never mind.
Washing machines - €5 but that included powder, clothes came out clean and smelt nice.
Check in / out - excellent and contact was reduced as much as poss.
Cleaning - now I’m happy to have a clean through and there is a brush / mop etc in the room but we were there for 10 days and to not have the bedding changed or room cleaned until 8th day was just a bit too long, would have been perfect if it was 5 days.. I didn’t need it doing more than once just the timing of it that’s all.
Sunbeds - there were always loads available and the time when there was someone on the ones I had booked they were quick to resolve the situation. You could stay for the morning and afternoon session as long as no one else had booked them beds, if they had you just needed to move to other beds. Always lots free. They sanitise the whole bed after each session.
Room - the room and balcony was amazing it was a great big two bedroom with massive bathroom / kitchen / dinning table and lounge area. For a family of 4 there was so much space for everyone
Tv’s in every room which helped as I have 2 teens! The TV channels were about 8 uk ones but the film one was great for my 15 year olds who likes chilling in the room! There is even an app that tells you what films are on etc!
WiFi - excellent never had any problems even when all 4 of us were on
In the room there was literally everything a home would have - iron / ironing board / brush / mop / hairdryer / free soaps / free safe / washing up liquid / dishwasher tablets / dishwasher/ coffee machine / free tea and coffee / microwave/ toaster / kettle / washing up clothes & tea towels honestly can’t think of anything I would have needed that wasn’t there!!!
Location- if you went out of the hotel by the pool gate and turned right then there’s about 10 restaurants - tried about 5 of them & didn’t have 1 bad meal.
If you go out of the main entrance and turn right you will go to san blast where there’s lots of bars / restaurants and a few shops.
The only negative that I could see was the sewage station thing next door, now we were around the other side so the only time we could smell it was when we went up the side of the hotel. If you were on that side of the hotel that faces it I think it would be a different story.
Must visit - Wild Geese across the road lovely pub & does fab food at reasonable prices. The mill - restaurants that’s only about 10 min walk but it’s lovely and the service is excellent.
Overall I would give this place 8/10 for hotel and 10/10 for my room and it’s views.
If you need any more tips please feel free to message me or see the other places we visited and ate at.
Hope you have as good a stay as we did & I would have no hesitation in returning.
