THB Flora

THB Flora is a family-friendly hotel in Puerto del Carmen, Lanzarote. The whitewashed low-rise buildings are set in mature, tree-lined gardens, which surround the hotel's two outdoor swimming pools. You can order a drink from one of the two pool bars and choose a sunny or shady spot on the terrace. For children, there's a shallower pool, a splash park and a playground. You can take part in an aerobics or aqua aerobics class, or work out in the hotel gym. You could also pamper yourself by booking a beauty treatment, such as a pedicure. The hotel hosts family-friendly shows every evening, and there's also special entertainment for kids six evenings a week, including a kids' disco. The shops, bars and restaurants of Puerto del Carmen are a short walk from THB Flora. The hotel provides a shuttle bus service to the beach that runs regularly throughout the day. Playa Chica beach is a sheltered bay with calm waters, popular with swimmers and snorkellers. If you want to explore more of the island, you can arrange a hire car through reception, or there's a bus stop close to the hotel. For golfers, the 18-hole, 72 par course at Lanzarote Gold is a short drive away.

The town of Puerto del Carmen has a promenade lined with cafes and bars, and an Old Town with more traditional Spanish restaurants. It's 500m from the hotel, and you can take the water taxi from there to the marina at Puerto Calero with its high-end shops. For more shopping, the four-storey mall Biosfera Plaza is 2km away. As well as retail and food outlets, it has a cinema and mini golf course on its roof. You can leave the coast for a day and take a 17km drive inland to Timanfaya National Park to experience the island's famous volcanic landscape.

The buffet restaurant at THB Flora is open for breakfast, lunch and dinner, and snacks are available throughout the day. The hotel has three bars, including two poolside bars. There's a mini market on site, and there are bars, cafes and restaurants in Puerto del Carmen.

There's a kids' club (ages 4-12) which runs activities including crafts, face painting and treasure hunts. For adults, there's darts, table tennis and a pool table.

All the rooms have a balcony or terrace. There's air conditioning, a mini fridge and a coffee machine, as well as high-speed Wi-Fi and satellite TV.
