I was happy to travel to Lanzarote once it became part of UK travel corridor & this hotel was recommended to me. It’s a very large hotel but obviously at this present time there were few guests.
We were 3 ladies all sharing a standard ground floor bedroom & had been worried it would be a bit small or not have enough storage but this wasn’t the case. Plenty of room in wardrobes & bathroom large. Only 2 wall plug sockets but I had brought a 3 way extension lead which was needed for charging multiple electrical devices.
Staff are friendly and efficient and the cleaning staff do a great job.
Sanitising stations throughout hotel and at every food station.
Masks must be worn at all times except when eating or drinking and staff will remind you of this politely.
There was entertainment in the piano bar every night so while sitting having a drink felt like things were normal again.
Drinks menu is excellent we were standard all inclusive which included bottles of wine Gordon’s gin & Smirnoff vodka. We met people who upgraded to the prestige package which included grey goose vodka Hendrix gin & fever tree tonic.
All inclusive guests can avail of one free visit to the Spa it was worth the visit.
Hotel grounds are beautiful and well kept. Christmas decorations throughout the hotel were stunning.
Food was poor and cold & after first day we complained to the Jet2 rep who said we weren’t the first to complain and would be speaking to management. It improved slightly after that but still not up to standards expected in a 4 star hotel. Best meal of the day was breakfast were you could get fresh omelettes made to order.
Location - it’s close to a small Marina with a couple of shops and restaurants but they closed at 4pm. Also a steep hill to go up and down to it. Taxi into Puerta del Carmen was between 7 & 10 euro depending were you got off. Nowhere local to walk to & sit in a cafe & watch the world go bye.
Pool bar didn’t serve any food but this was probably due to under occupancy.
Had a great holiday felt very safe and if food improved I might go back.
Most things about this hotel were good
The food was a big let down. Both breakfast and dinner buffets were not good quality. Perhaps the need to cook for such large amount of guests has an impact but it definitely affects the overall judgement of a hotel that otherwise was good.
I arrived at the hotel for 6 nights and on check in the lady was very nice, there did seem to be less Covid checks in place at this hotel which did make me feel uncomfortable. Only once I had checked in and been given all the information and keys etc was my temperature taken. The room was nice and spacious and had a good view onto the pool, I was All inclusive prestige but felt this service really needs to be upgraded as the service was not that great, My minibar in my room was not stocked daily, when you enter the restaurant you would expect one waiter at least to be dedicated to prestige but they are all busy with the other guests and to order drinks took at least 10-15 minutes each time, Th lounge is a good addition and I enjoyed sitting in the lounge in the evening after dinner to have some drinks. The hotel I was expecting to be immaculate however there are some signs of wear especially around the salted pool and the hotel really needs a good update, renovation and clean this was a bit upsetting considering the prices they are charging. With regards to the spa it was nice having this included so I went everyday and had a massage which was great too, however I also have a big problem with the spa, there is no Covid checks at all so you have people not staying in the hotel coming into the spa also with no temperature checks or nothing. Overall the food was really good with lots of selection as I have found other All Inclusive hotels cutting back alot, the prestige package was great as you can have anything literally you want however I feel the service and the maintenance of the hotel let them down which is really disappointing.
