Cordial Mogan Playa is in quiet surroundings on the southwest coast of the island of Gran Canaria. The hotel's buildings are painted in traditional Canarian warm colours, and scattered around the hotel's subtropical gardens. The mountains provide the backdrop for the landscaped grounds, while the sea is a short stroll away from the hotel. Life at Cordial Mogan Playa centers around the two outdoor swimming pools, one of which has a sandy beach area leading down to the water. You can order a drink from one of the two poolside bars, then relax on the sun terraces under the shade of one of the hotel's many palm trees. The outdoor swimming pools are heated during the winter, and there's also a pool indoors in the spa area. The resort of Puerto de Mogan is a short walk from Cordial Mogan Playa, and has canals and a marina, with a choice of places to eat and drink. You can take day trips around the coast to visit some of Gran Canaria's many other beaches, or explore the island's mountains.
From Cordial Mogan Playa, it's 500m to Playa de Mogan beach. The fine sand and calm sea make it a popular beach for families, and it's also a favourite snorkelling spot. The New Year's buffet was arguably the finest buffet we have enjoyed. Hundreds of dishes, all beautifully presented and delicious. Wines/beer included and the cost very reasonable. The venue is fantastic and in itself worth a detour!
Our fourth year in a row of staying at this fabulous hotel. Loved the changes made to the swimming pool, the gravel is gone replaced with tile and artificial grass and the night lighting fantastic. The revamped restaurant was also good. Food was up to the usual great standard and the staff as friendly and helpful as ever.
The covid precautions were always observed by guests and staff, and understandably not all the usual facilities were available but it didn't detract from a lovely relaxing trip. We will be back!
We are currently enjoying a six week honeymoon here and can honestly say we feel very safe in these uncertain times.
The hotel is a large complex so keeping social distance from everyone around is very easy.
The staff are very obliging and extremely professional.
Large selection of food available buffet style and everything set up for you have a perfect holiday here.
We will definitely be returning in January to this wonderful hotel.
