Lopesan Villa del Conde Resort & Thalasso is a hotel with traditional high ceilings and architecture in the Canary Island style. It's in Meloneras, a seaside corner of the resort of Maspalomas in Gran Canaria. The hotel is designed in the style of a holiday village, with a central square and pool area set in palm tree-filled gardens. It's a short walk from the sandy beach. The hotel is home to five bars, two buffet restaurants and two a la carte restaurants, including one poolside and a barbecue grill restaurant. Evening entertainment is available several times a week. The spa, which has rooms with sea views, specialises in thalassotherapy, a saltwater treatment for the skin. Alternatively, you can enjoy the saltwater pool, whirlpool, sauna and steam room, or one of the six outdoor pools. Families with children can also splash around in the kids pool. The local resorts of Maspalomas and neighbouring Playa del Ingles are popular with visitors for their range of bars and restaurants, along with the Maspalomas golf course. Couples can enjoy a romantic walk along the dunes, while families might like to visit local theme parks such as Aqualand Maspalomas, a water park with twisting water chutes, slides and a bubble pool. For those who fancy holiday shopping, the nearest shopping centre is a short walk away. Alternatively, you may like to visit the larger Yumbo Centrum mall in Playa del Ingles, where you'll have more than 200 shops, cafes and cabaret bars to choose from.
The hotel is 500m from Playa de Meloneras beach on Gran Canaria's southern coast. It's 600m from the nearest centre at Varadero shopping mall. Maspalomas is a convenient base if you want to visit other parts of Gran Canaria, as it has access to the two highways that run around and across the whole island. Maspalomas is popular for its sandy beaches and dunes, as well as its tourist attractions, which include a cinema and a golf course. Families can enjoy a visit to the saloons and cowboy shows at the Wild West-themed Sioux City Park. If you're looking for nightlife, there are local clubs a short drive away. You may also like to enjoy an evening away in the neighbouring resort of Playa del Ingles, known for having one of Gran Canaria's liveliest nightlife scenes. The bars at Yumbo Centrum shopping mall in Playa del Ingles are 4.5km away.
You can get breakfast and dinner at one of the buffet restaurants. During your holiday, you may like to look out for mojo rojo, a spicy red sauce that's popular in Gran Canarian cuisine. For an extra kick, try mojo picon, a chilli variety.
The kids club runs from Monday to Saturday. The spa is normally for 18 years and over, but welcomes 12- to 18-year-olds accompanied by adults once a week.
All the rooms have air conditioning, Wi-Fi and satellite TV. There's a safe for your valuables, and baby cots are also available.

The entrance of this hotel has the WOW. Our check in by DORA was so smooth and she made it so easy. What a pleasant lady. Our room was OK but not as modern as we had hoped. But very very clean so that made us happy.
The 3 things that let this hotel down was the the FOOD , RESTAURANT, AND ONLY 1 BAR OPEN on the night due to COVID.
The food was in my opinion one of the worst I’ve seen, I’m a vegetarian and the only soup was goulash with pieces of meat in or fish soup with bits in.....I was upset.....I then went to get pasta and the chef just pointed at what was pre made and he would not make any fresh. Also considering Covid the restaurant had no order or organisation so everyone was bumping into you....it was not good......the crackers for the dessert were soft overall the buffet and restaurant was a huge letdown.
Then on the night only 1 bar open so everyone was then in one space and due to Covid this is not good so we sat in an area with a drink that was shut....so we then felt safe but I was upset as on the web it did not say that these bars are all closed.
Overall not happy and we would not return.
The SPA that is beautifully marketed on all their sales channels lured us to choose this hotel. The SPA is by the way closed because of COVID. The gym is closed too. And since that information is somewhere in the fineprints on booking.com they will refuse you any refunds or other compensation.
The food is average. The heated pool is not heated. There is no entertainment. And there is generally nothing to do at this so called 5 star hotel. Don’t come here. It’s not worth the money you will spend.
Stunning reception and entrance. All staff consistently followed high levels of hygiene standards as we stayed during the COVID situation.
There were numerous pools to use and the sun beds were plentiful and disinfected through out the day.
This was not the hotel that we had originally booked as a result of COVID and whilst it is rated as a five star it came with a level of impersonality and lack of attention when in the restaurant. On a number of occasions we had to wait circa ten minutes to get tea/coffee for breakfast and the food was regularly either overcooked or cold.
Christmas Day at the hotel was disappointing, whilst decorations were up it was very understated with very limited celebrations and acknowledgement of the day and the evening buffet choices did not offer any sign of any traditional Christmas food options.
The room was a standard double and whilst it came with a walk in closet the room it’s self was dark and dull with no view; we were advised that this was the quality of the room that we had been assigned by our tour operator. We believe that we lost something in the standard of the room that we had been assigned as a result of the transfer against other hotel facilities that should have been open but weren’t due to COVID.
Overall a nice hotel and we are truly grateful for being able to spend seven days away with the Villa del Conde placing a focus on ensuring guests were safe but the hotel 🏨 is not for us.
