My Husband and I stayed here fro 8 days towards the end of Feb 2020. We were a bit nervous after reading some of the reviews but need not have been. Lovely friendly staff, Cafe Bar also very freindly and welcoming. Yes it could do with a little updating but for the price you pay it was very Central and lovely and clean. Rooms attended to everyday except 2 during our stay. Shampoo and hand sopa were provided, curtains are blackout curtains and the beds have memory foam mattress's and were very comfortable. The 'Kitchen' area was very compact but we only used the fridge for water, if you wanted to cook it might be a different matter, but that's not why I go on holiday. There was a table and chairs you could eat at but sorry no picture. We were in Room 61 which was quite high (8 floors) and at the back.
The noise levels on the fist 4 nights were extreme but it was the end of their Carnival month so to be expected, as the old saying goes 'If you can't beat them, join them!'.
We had some lovely meals while out and about and took the Open Bus Trip which we enjoyed. I recommend La Chaxhara Terraza Tapas Bar, PinchoJ's Tapas Bar, El Bogeon (Biggest T-Bone ever) and many others.
For a budget break in the sun I have no hesitation in recomending, if you like the finer things in life dig deeper.
We stayed for a week and tried to get out as much as possible room a bit depressing dirty walls needs updating. Could not sleep. To much noise coming from the street. Building work going on down stairs right below us. Not enough plug sockets more sockets in the bathrrom then the whole apartment.
Arrived Christmas eve and checked in within minutes with no problem. The room is basic but comfortable with enough facilities to do basic self catering. It is well positioned for the beach and there are plenty of supermarkets, bars and restaurants very close by. The beach is only 5 minutes walk. The room was cleaned daily, with towels and linen changes when needed. Due to its location there is a fair bit of noise in the park at night but this does settle down and didn't keep me awake. Cleaning starts in the park and surrounding streets about 7 am. Again, this didn't bother me at all. It's refreshing to see so much cleaning going on compared with the UK.
This is a basic hotel with basic facilities but it is adequate as a base. Some people expect too much for the money.
