The hotel was a TUI SENSIMAR but recently RIU , 50% owned by TUI , has formed a new partnership . However , the stamp of RIU is not apparent in the hotel yet but booking though either website etc is available . The name of the hotel currently differs on some TUI/RIU information sources apart from the name “ Calypso “ .
There are only a few reviews in English on this website as most clients are not from the UK . In fact , we did not meet another British couple during our stay as most others were German with a few from the Netherlands . However , this is not an issue .
The location of the hotel is excellent with a wonderful beach easily accessible and other facilities in close proximity.
The food , service , rooms , comfort are all of a high standard and all the staff have a happy disposition. The hotel has everything required for a happy holiday and the weather during our stay was the best we have experienced in the Canary Islands over the last 30 Winters .
Great location, right beside an incredible beach, and excellent service and staff throughout the hotel especially in the dining room/housekeeping. Good-sized rooms, with large balconies for private sunbathing, cleaned to a high standard daily. Bathroom could do with some remodelling. Excellent pool, gym and sunbed facilities. Few changes could be made to menu - breakfast needs a bigger variety of fresh fruit like papaya and mango - which were available some evenings. Also desserts need some work (cakes overall were really not good and seemed to be mostly made with a bread-like pastry) as they are not up to the standard of other RIU’s. But overall a very pleasant stay.
Very stylish, very friendly staff, very good food. I think is the best Hotel in Fuerteventura :) A lot od german tourists but very classy and educated. I really enjoyed the pool and the fact that you have the see only a few meters away. If you don't have kids and you wanna visit Fuerteventura, you should try this hotel!!!
