XQ El Palacete

This was our first visit to Morro Jable - and we could not have picked a better hotel.

Almost all the other guests were German, we were the only English visitors and with fewer staff that spoke English it did help to be able to communicate in Spanish, but I can honestly say that in managing the difficult situation arising from the Coronavirus lockdown, the staff were just wonderful. Special thanks must go to Carmelo, Rosa, Pablo, Begona, Hassan and Esther for making our holiday so enjoyable, but service in all departments was excellent.

The hotel was spotlessly clean throughout, rooms very well equipped and all with the same stunning view, food varied and of the highest standard and remaining hot to the end of service, whilst the beautiful pool, terraces and ample comfortable sunbeds made our being confined to the hotel no problem at all. This is a quality establishment that provides a quiet, elegant and relaxing stay, it is not for those seeking a busy bar and lively evening entertainment.

This hotel has to be one of the finest in Morro Jable. Nestling in the cliffs and overlooking a spotless beach the XQ El Palacete provided us with first class service, remarkably good food and a bedroom that many more expensive hotels would aspire to. This is definitely a hotel to return to!

We had never visited Fuertaventura before. As we flew across the island and drove through the black landscape we wondered what we would find in Marro Jable, as we stepped into the hotel with views over the sparkling sea and offered a glass of bubbly we realised we were somewhere very special.

The hotel is amazing, with everything needed for a fabulous holiday, but the wonderful staff make this such a lovely place to stay.

We were shown to our room, not premiere, but can't imagine we could want for more, looking through the room to the balcony, the same amazing sea view. The room spacious with a huge bed and comfortable seating had a modern bathroom, great shower and his and hers sinks. The balcony looked over the pool and hot tup, views over the pretty town of Marro Jable and looking i/n the other direction the beach as far as the eye could see.

In the restaurant we had a dedicated table with the same view, and as we ate dinner each evening the sun set over the sea. In the ten days we were there we never ate the same thing twice, neither at breakfast, (with Buck's fizz) or dinner. The selection huge, and steak or fish freshly cooked to our liking on a griddle. Always amazing.

The hotel had a gate to the beach. Through the town, the port with stingray and turtles, was a short walk over a hill with amazing views. A walk along the surf took you to beach cafes with cocktails, to the lighthouse and shops but we never found the end of the beach. We returned via the broad walk admiring the art installations.

A free bus took us to the zoo and gardens, this was a lovely day out, but it was vey difficult to leave the comfort of the hotel loungers.

The other guests were all lovely, most returning after previous stays, we hope to meet them again, because we too will return.
