Iberostar Hotel Playa Gaviotas Park

Iberostar Playa Gaviotas Park is a family-friendly All Inclusive resort on the southern coast of Fuerteventura, one of the Canary Islands. The hotel's garden and pool look onto Jandia Beach, where you can play in the sand or take a swim in the Mediterranean Sea. The hotel has three outdoor swimming pools, along with two shallower pools for children and infants. There's also a spa for you to relax in. During the summer season, the hotel hosts entertainment six days a week. Iberostar Playa Gaviotas Park is steps away from a popular shopping mall with both high street and high-end brands and places to eat. It's also a short walk from Playa del Matorral, an area of natural beauty with a mix of grassy dunes and sandy beaches. Along the promenade that runs parallel to the beach you'll find a skeleton of a sperm whale. It's one of a series of installations around Fuerteventura which draw attention to protecting the ocean and the environment. The area is known for its protection of local animals and provides a safe space for nesting turtles. Further along at the curve of the beach you'll discover the Faro de Morro Jable, a lighthouse built in the centre of the beach area. A wooden pathway cuts past it, linked the beach to the promenade and the beach. You can walk along from the resort past the lighthouse, where you'll find a beachfront bar, so you can have a drink while resting on the beach.

Iberostar Playa Gaviotas Park is 200m from Jandia beach and 40km from Jandia. The southern part of the island is renowned for its scenery, and the hotel is roughly 10km from the entrance to Jandia Natural Park, the most expansive of three parks in Fuerteventura. One of the highlights of the park is hiking Pico de la Zarza, the tallest mountain on the island. From its peak you'll have panoramic view of the entire island. It also encompasses Cofete beach on the north side of the island, a 26km drive away from the hotel. The beach is a wild conservation area for many species of birds. You can see the sights of the trails without the hiking by visiting Faro de Punta Jandia, a lighthouse that sits on the furthest point west of Fuerteventura, 27km away. The building is still active, but also doubles as a museum, with marine life exhibits and a viewing deck so you can enjoy sweeping views of the ocean.

The Iberostar Playa Gaviotas Park has a buffet restaurant offering breakfast, lunch and dinner, with a range of international dishes to try. The restaurant also hosts show cooking. There are three bars within the hotel, and you'll find more bars at Jandia beach, where you can enjoy a drink with a sea view.

Iberostar Playa Gaviotas Park has a kids' club for children aged 3-7. There's also a water park at the north of island for a day trip away.

The rooms at Iberostar Playa Gaviotas Park are bright and airy with modern furnishings. They all come with air conditioning.

Excellent hotel
Mar 2020 |

We stayed here 7th-14th March on recommendation from a family member and we wasn’t disappointed we had a fantastic holiday. The staff throughout the whole hotel were excellent especially the entertainment team the bar staff and the restaurant staff.

The hotel is exceptionally clean throughout I’ve never seen swimming pools look so clean as is every other section of the hotel. If you have children make a trip next door to the sister hotel to use the bowling alley it was brill didn’t realise until our last few days. The beach is brill and there is s lovely park just next to the beach that the kids loved.

There was so much for the kids to do, they loved the kids club throughout the day and the entertainment at night, the greatest showman was our favourite!

My only recommendation is for the food to be more clearly labelled in the restaurant somethings (like the children’s section) didn’t have any labels on food this could cause concern for anyone with allergies and also create less waste if you knew what you were eating.

Overall an excellent holiday we will defiantly return in the future.

Myself and 3 members of my family spent a week here earlier this month.

After reading the excellent reviews we were disappointed with the food in comparison to the Sister hotel Playa Gaviotas.

The Dining room at Gaviotas Park could also seriously do with an update, the chairs and tables were shabby and the crockery had seen better days a lot if it being chipped or cracked.

The hotel itself was spotlessly clean and the staff were lovely.

Our sea view suites were clean but a little shabby, beds were very comfortable.

Although we had a small kitchenette in our suite, there was not a kettle or any cups or cooking utensils but we took our own kettle.

Entertainment team did a good job and all the children there seemed to be enjoying themselves.

We had a massage at the hotel spa, which resulted in heavy bruising and a lot of pain but the cost of my massage was refunded and I was given a pain killing injection by the hotel doctor, free of charge.

The highlight of our holiday was feeding the chipmunks down by the beach, they were so friendly, we brought a bag of peanuts in shells from the beach bar.

there were six of us travelled requiring three rooms, we requested high balconies and rooms that were close to each other, and we were given what we requested. The staff were excellent and friendly from the cleaners to the waiting staff always smiling and nothing to much of a problem. Food to die for, so much choice and again everything served as you wished by a smiling face. Entertainment on an evening was excellent, with the entertainment staff always on hand during the day. Rooms and the public area's were spotless and constantly being cleaned. Would we go again definitely.
