Fab Holiday!
Jan 2021 |

Had a great holiday, staff were lovely, hotel was clean if a bit tired. Entertainment team were fab. Everybody was really friendly and you could tell they were trying their best to make it all as normal as possible despite the Covid-19 situation / restrictions. Really lovely restful break, would recommend to anybody.

Covid protocols need improving
Jan 2021 |

Stayed here for 15 nights over Xmas break but it really wasn’t the hotel for us.

Noray bar area was very nice and modern. Good food.

-security staff very visible every night, felt safe in that respect

good location by beach, some lovely walks daily to feed the many cats

-staff friendly and clearly work hard, some never seemed to go home!

had some sea view from our upper floor sea view bungalow (but was obstructed).

-Supermarket on site very handy, slightly pricey but friendly staff

food was fine but New Years food was very good.

-was given a lovely little cake and a bottle of bubbly on my birthday, very nice surprise.

Need for improvement

Bungalows dated and worn in places, never felt ‘really clean’, and towels and sheets always had stains on them, had unpleasant smell to it, drafts around the windows, had to run hot water for 10 minutes before shower as cold otherwise. Killed 2 cockroaches in the kitchen. Patio area covered in bird poo daily, from the dozens of pigeons everywhere so couldn’t sit out there much. Wifi was hit and miss, worked most of time in lounge but no signal in bedroom.

- Should have hand soap by all the gates into complex, not good.

The pool area looks a bit tired, main pools not heated which is crazy in winter, one tiny square pool heated at the end of the complex but not a pleasant area. They also don’t disinfectant sunbeds after every use and many are crammed together

- Many guests not wearing face masks around the hotel and the resort. Saw staff member wearing mask as a ‘chin warmer’, talking to guests from a foot away.

restaurant self service buffet. I simply cannot understand why they do self service in the middle of a pandemic (we came from a hotel in Tenerife where food was served to you or on individual plates). Watched every day as people went into the buffet without washing hands, touched tongs, touched the outside of their mask, put the tongs back onto the food. Not even disposable gloves provided. Saw a woman pull down her mask at the buffet, stick a mini croissant in her mouth by hand, then touched the tongs and saw a man do the same with a chip. Adults and kids go to the buffet not wearing masks, even saw a cook pass some freshly cooked meat directly to a man with no mask. I complained to a staff member after watching an older kid eating directly from the desert section with his hands on day 2, she did absolutely nothing, so I complained to a restaurant manager but nothing was done. After day 4, I complained to the main manager at reception. But the next day, nothing had changed and never changed throughout our stay.

Aware staff can’t control people and people clearly can be are selfish, complacent and get in ‘holiday mode’, but hand washing and mask wearing should be monitored every single mealtime and action/ challenge taken if it doesn’t happen, but besides one occasion (in 14 days ! ), when I saw one female waitress tell a lady who was at the buffet with no mask, it was allowed to continue. The problem is the buffet is too open with no controlled entry and exit points, unsupervised children are allowed to run riot there and no senior staff are there to observe and take action. Nearly every mealtime I saw unsafe selfish behaviour. It was very shocking and made us feel very uncomfortable and very unsafe. This is our 6th hotel during this pandemic and the first time I have seen anything like this.

I know these are challenging times and it is difficult for staff (I work in tourism so i know) but in my view, this hotel needs to urgently improve their Covid health and safety protocols. Of course, I would not stay again, we did end up leaving a few days early (positively was given a refund for those days), but a disappointing stay and pleased to have moved onto a different hotel.

Hotel stay
Jan 2021 |

The overall stay was pleasant considering the covid situation which makes any holiday less comfortable. The hotel needs a bit of uplifting, many broken and used bits and pieces. The beds are not very comfortable and showers always flood the bathroom due to bad glass door installation. The food was decent but not great, very repetitive especially on new year's eve where better things were expected.

The highlight of the hotel was the animation team especially Carolina from kids club and Micheal and Michaela who were very kind and did a great job. The shows were good but the Rock band/Abba group were absolutely amazing.

The team at reception were very unprofessional and aggressive and unhelpful. Information was wrong and they only did a minimum which is a pity as it is the first contact at the hotel and it is not welcoming.
