We had booked a room for 2 adults and 1 kid. When we checked in, we were asked to pay extra for our kid. We went to the room and there were only 1 double bed. Since the reception closed down right after our check in, we wrote an email to the hotel. The day after we were told, that we had payed the correct amount. We asked for an extra bed but that was not possible even that we payed extra. At the end we could get a madrass if we moved it ourselves. We were so disappointed after the first night so we wrote a slightly bad review in hotels.com's homepage.
Later that day, we received several angry emails that we didn't answer right away because we were exploring the city. After 2 hours from the first mail, my wife even got an sms from the owner, where my wife was called a stup bi* without any reason! (The manager/owner had misunderstand a swedish automessage and that was enough reason to his/her extremely rude language to the customer) We left one night before planned because we didn't felt safe.
Enough about the staff...
The room was small, VERY warm, aged and the bathroom was built with cheap materials, so the plastic floor was moving, rusty interior and a see-trough curtains.
The only good thing about the place, was the location. Quiet but anyway close to the centrum.
We parked the car in one of the 24-hour parking houses and took the free public transport to the hotel.
By the way, Bruges is an amazing city!!!
We spent a night in this hotel. Cold and anxiety-inducing welcome. In addition, the hostess asked us for a reservation cost on our arrival, at our surprise, in the amount of 100 euros (deposit) which was cashed to us immediately.
The hostess confirmed to me that the deposit would not be cashed after the check out at the departure of the room.
Room spacious but completely dirty, aging. Breakfast very light and really not good (frozen breads and pastries, inedible coffees ..). To be avoided urgently !
We've been in many hotels in Europe, even low budget and we never complained or gave bad reviews. We are NOT difficult people. This hotel has 3 stars which is unbelievable, Stars and pictures shown on site must date from better days.
Breakfast is poor, very poor and Covid-19 is NO excuse for such a miserable service. You have to ask for every.single.thing!
Tiny breadrolls were chewy or hard as a brick. Boiled eggs were still half rare. And the hair we found on our cheese was the cherry on the pie.
Bathroom was only superficially cleaned. Even toilet was not clean. And let's not talk about the toilet brush. EVER.
No refills on tea or towels.
Elevator is doubtfully secure. Dates from the Seventies.
Location is good, but really there are many hotels around so no reason to pick this one.
