It was very difficult to get a firm view as half the hotel was shut down because of lack of business due to covid 19 and there were very few guests. What staff there were, were friendly and helpful. We were able to get drinks served in the central courtyard which was very good of them given reduced staffing levels. Comfortable clean room although coffee machine capsules not replenished when used. Intermittent light fault in bathroom could not be fixed because room had to be vacant for a period before maintenance could attend, but was offered alternative room.
When we arrived for our four night stay, I wasn't sure how things would work out. The decor was a bit odd and our room wasn't ready. Staff were polite however and gave us some water while we waited. A few minutes later, someone showed us to our room. We'd booked a Junior Suite which exceeded all of our expectations. There was a large central room with a sofa/bed (almost like a day bed), a TV, and a bar area where we made many Nespressos. The bar was stocked with waters and some local beer. There was a separate room with a large king bed. This bed was AMAZING. The room also had the largest closet I've ever seen in Europe. You could walk in, store your bags, put some items in drawers or on hangers, dump your junk every night, etc. It was HUGE. Finally, the bathroom was blissful. Huge, marble, gorgeous, wonderful toiletries.
The room was generally quiet. Our room overlooked a quiet courtyard and we didn't hear much from other guests. The location of the hotel is perfect. Be sure to cross the street into the park and eat at the little breakfast/lunch cottage in the park. Louise is right next to trams and the subway, but overall Brussels is very walkable. There are grocery stores just steps from the hotel.
I'd like to give a con but there really isn't one. Staff weren't necessarily gregariously friendly but they were helpful and polite.
We will definitely stay here again in Brussels!
I stayed here for a business trip for a couple of days recently. I chose the hotel both for its central location, and because I relied on the Sofitel Brand. Even though the entrance is a bit strange with the escalator, I can say, that my stay was perfect and I was happy I had chosen this hotel.
Not only was the location perfect next to all the major stores and restaurants, but the room was modern and well kept. The breakfast was good with a large choice, and the staff were all very professional. Also the room service was good. Finally, when I had to extend by one night, the front desk was very helpful and made everything easy for me.
I would definitely recommend this hotel for business travelers and tourists!
