Really family friendly hotel, staff are excellent, reception helpful, chenco barman is a great laugh, vincente runs the restaurant very well, no dirty tables, very strict on covid policies, but very friendly. Food is best AI you'll get for 3*. Bbq nearly every night. Rooms are big and well maintained for their age.
Couple of improvements hence 4/5 rating. Need another way in out restaraunte. Pool area wasn't cleaned very well, litter from previous day. Although when the regular lifeguard was off, his replacement cleaned sunbeds and picked up litter. And the evening entertainment was poor very tame lounge singers. But I guess maybe it was what was available under circumstances. Animation team did their best with restriction and were good for a laugh.
Value wise you won't get any better for your pound
This hotel is located on the heel so if any mobility problems I will suggest avoid it as to get to the beach and back take so me effort. In general great family pace with all inclusive option and evening entertainment. Rooms are old dated but spacious. Staff really nice and helpful...2 swimming pools, plenty of sunbeds. Food was very good and different every day.I will reccomend for families with young children.
Had a great week at the hotel. Transfer from airport took around 30 minutes. Check in was fast and very clear on guidance for Covid 19 measures, e.g wearing masks, meal times, etc. As others have said walls were thin in rooms, but didn't find it an issue really.
Stayed in 1 bed apartment, downstairs beds only really suitable for children. Room had kitchen including fridge – we were all includive so only really used the fridge. Room was clean and tidy, other than the bathroom the rooms were a bit dated, but for the price was not too bad. Bathroom was new and modern. Rooms were cleaned every day except one day we were there. There was a laundry room which you had to get the key from reception for.
In terms of activities, there were sports activities twice a day and other activities such as making Sangria going on. There was a kids club during the day, but not much more than colouring in. Guess activities were restricted by Covid restrictions, e.g there was no shooting or archery this year. Evening entertainment was varied, mini disco for kids first then mixture of live acts, bingo and karaoke.
In terms of the food we were required to wear gloves and masks when getting food and drinks at meal times. Food itself was good, if you are a fussy eater like myself who does not like your food too oily then it may be challenging, even the vegetables were either very buttery or coated in oil. The main dishes were good, e.g the meat and fish dishes. The side dishes were not always linked to the main courses on offer. There was a BBQ each nigh except one which served skewers, steaks, chops and some BBQ vegetables. Best meal we had was the kebabs they had on twice in the week. Options were varied and plentiful, food was replenished regularly. Breakfast was good too, bacon tasted better than it looked, not sure about deep fried battered broccoli as a breakfast option!! Plenty of desserts on offer which were good quality, some were odd, unsure what some of them were as they had no labels against them. Best desserts generally disappeared early. Plenty of fresh fruit and salad available, although fresh fruit only available at lunch and dinner, not always at breakfast. Good choice of drinks on all inclusive, cocktails were pre mixed.
Pool area was good, 2 pools. Plenty of space in the pool, although I doubt this would be the case normally. We did notice there were items of rubbish not tidied from one day to the next. Pool itself was clean, sunbeds were hosed down some nights.
Plenty of stairs to walk to get to our room, main issue with this was getting luggage down initially and back up on leaving, not much of a problem otherwise, but if you struggle with stairs this would be an issue. Around a 15 minute walk to the beach, again a lot of steps (around 300) from beach up to the hotel. There was a shuttle bus to the beach which we did not use. Shops and restaurants around a ten minute walk from the hotel.
Overall I was very happy with out visit, especially in such weird times, staff did really well and were quick to challenge anyone not sticking to guidelines, e.g not wearing masks, not wearing gloves in dining area, etc. Staff were very good given the circumstances and made the trip enjoyable
Animation team did a great job in challenging circumstances. Kids really enjoyed their holiday. Was all the better for being quieter than normal.
