Disclaimer: I understand how difficult it must be for hotels during a global pandemic. Even so, there are a few little details that can make the experience a tad bit better.
This is marketed as a 4-star hotel, but I feel that the 4th star is a little wobbly, about to fall off. The facilities are great. The lobby, the room, the pool area (especially) meet that 4-star standard. But other than that, it was lacking.
If you want a pool towel, it’s a 10 euro deposit for each towel. And you have to pay 1 euro if you want to switch out the towel at any point during your stay. Also, there was a deposit for the key to the in-room safe. Never once have I heard of this.
Expectations weren’t met when it came to the staff. There were a few incidents that left me with a bad taste in my mouth. First off, the employees never seemed eager to help. It was almost like they were avoiding the guests. Even during breakfast, the staff was a bit cold. Not very welcoming. Also, many times the breakfast stations went unmanned. Just a bit frustrating.
Additionally, our room wasn’t properly cleaned for our first three days. And once, the cleaning person came into the room without knocking while we were in there. On day three, our single roll of toilet paper had done its job admirably, but we needed more. I tried to call the front desk, but the phone didn’t work. So, I went down and told the man there that our room hadn’t been cleaned properly since our stay began. To my surprise, he became defensive. No apology at all. He began telling me that the cleaning staff only works for a few hours in the morning, and that I must have had the Do Not Disturb on.
I then told him we were out of toilet paper. He asked, “Do you need it now?” I couldn’t help but laugh. Yes. Yes, I need TP now. After getting a roll, he told me that I could just call the front desk for stuff like that. I told him the phone didn’t work, so he said someone will come up to fix it. No one ever did.
One last note – the hotel was lifeless. It’s hard to explain, but there just wasn’t much personality. No music at the pool, bare walls. But really, I think the lack of enthusiasm from the staff contributed to this feeling, too.
The hotel was verry nice. Empolyes were verry kind and the beach was just 30 seconds walk through the pool. The swimingpool was clean, beautiful and i do recomend this hotel. Especially for couples!!!
