HOTEL Investa La Cala
Sept 11th / 18th 2019
This Hotel is in the middle of the town ,about 100mts from the coast a very good position
the hotel is in a built area with roads on all sides,,iand as such traffic at all times is noisy,
Which means IF YOU ARE IN OUT SIDED ROOMS IN THE HOTEL which COULD BE A PROBLEM ,WE HAD ROOM 409 with pool view and was situated three rooms from the end or the hotel ,but even here me partner was troubled both night and early morning
with heavy goods lorries and motorbikes.
the hotel as two pools both a little small but while we were there never full so not too bad,
the room was good and quite large the bathroom very compact possible a little small
fridge safe tea and coffee making machine where all in our room and were always full
Breakfast was as good as any we have had in 4 star hotel with lots of choice i thought the evening meal was a little below standard but we did ok.
the bar area and night entertainment was good and used them most nights
The staff at this hotel are among the best we have seen nothing was too much trouble.
My partner like the hotel and the town but i thought the hotel was to compact possible because this is the first time we have used a town centre hotel
we loved SANTA EULALIA AND WILL COME AGAIN
We asked for a quiet room on high floor not on the main road. We got a room on 3rd floor on the main road, which was so noisy with traffic that we couldn’t get a decent sleep. The hotel said we could pay extra for a pool view, which we didn’t want to do as it added more cost to the holiday. We met a couple at the end of the holiday who changed their room as they were unhappy about it and they were offered a pool view without having to pay extra for it. I don’t know why we didn’t as the hotel was quiet as it was closing for the season the following week. The room size was good, a bit dated, but a third single bed was in the room which took up too much space and it was against 2nd balcony doors as there wasn’t really room for it. Why they couldn’t take it away when there was just 2 of us, I do not know. The food choices at the hotel were repetitive and not much choice if you are vegetarian and by the end of our week there was even less choice and less staff as the hotel was closing the day after we left. The staff were very helpful and polite and they make the holiday more enjoyable.
There was little entertainment, just a few vocalists over the week, but hardly anyone went through to the lounge to watch.
This was our first holiday to Ibiza and Santa Eulalia was a lovely place but we would not return to this hotel.
3rd visit this year tells it's own tale. Esther and Barbara at reception gave us a great welcome as did Raul, at the bar who even remembered our names ! The staff here are truly first class. I have written before about the qualities of the hotel, and what a wonderful resort Santa Eulalia is.
I do have one small concern regarding the dining arrangements this time around. The hotel has a small terrace for outdoor dining which we like to use in good weather. On our penultimate morning, the waitresses had blocked the entrance and had not laid the tables. My wife and I nevertheless squeezed through, and along with several other guests ate our breakfast outside. In the evening, however, the staff made a much more concerted effort to stop guests from eating outside even though it was a lovely 23 degrees. My wife was certain that this was done because the restaurant was short staffed and that by closing the patio the remaining waitresses would be under less pressure. Whilst I have every sympathy for the extremely hard working staff, I do feel that this was quite poor from them, as the prime function of the hotel is to meet the needs of the customers not to reduce pressure on the staff. If staffing levels were in fact the issue, then this needs to be managed by the hotel.
This irritant did not ruin the holiday by any means and certainly will not stop us from returning to this lovely hotel which we recommend very highly.
