Jetwing Wifi Mttters !!!!!!! For All round communiction

In the month of April 2023 we had availed to the services of Jetwing (6 travellers). Our Dirver & Tour Escort Mr. Chandana Karunasekara was perfect in his encompassed services and brilliantly portrayed the Sir Lankan & Jetwing hospitality. However, one major hitch with is very much regretted and was the consequental experience of not having Wifi ervices on the vehicle utilized and allocated during our 4 days stay in Sir Lanka. We have written to the Management of Jetwing regarding the issue after our return from the holiday. No response as yet from them. Wifii provision on tour operated vehicles is an imporant amentity and must be mandatory. Accessing the Internet especially during our travel/tour has become internationally so engrained in our day to day necessaity rathan than a mear leisure that having to pay for it (or worse still, not having access to it at all) seems well...... rather ridiculous. It would be worthwhile mentioning and bringing to Jetwings attention that having access to free and fast WiFi on tourist travel vehicles means that guests can stay in touch with their families at any given time during the road travel. And happy guests mean better tour travel experiences. Provided free and fast WiFi access will help them feel relaxed and satisfied making the most of their holiday and avoid the Guests additional roaming internatinal charges. Through this posting in TripAdvisor I hope Jetwing seriously considers this vital amenity as absolutely essential to their tour experience. Jetwing please try to make a difference to your outlook in providing guests with basis connecitivity rahter than being penny wise pound foolsh.

A very comfortable hotel to stop and recharge after a flight.

We stayed just the one night at the start of out tour of Sri Lanka. The room was large very clean and a comfortable bed. Complimentary tea and coffee and milk in the mini bar. Staff friendly and helpful in the reception. Beach is nice but like other reviews hawkers are a nuisance when you just want to relax and walk. We used the loungers around the pool which were fine with soft clean towels supplied. I fell asleep and when I woke we both had two stray dogs under our loungers taking refuge from the sun. They and their mates barked when other dogs came by but just putting on a show. We love people watching and there is a lot going on. Impromptu Beach volley ball, a employee stalking the crows with a catapult but never shooting at them, and hawkers trying their luck with every new in town tourist. Breakfast was nice but we didn’t get quite what we asked for but what we had was cooked fresh. Lovely service from the staff. Overall a pleasant experience.

Hit and miss

There are a few things I did like about this hotel. For the most part the staff were very nice, there were excellent cocktails which are reasonably priced (although beware prices don’t include tax unlike most places so they seem cheaper than they are) and the room was clean and comfortable. Also on the weekend they do a street food thing across from the hotel where the food is really authentic (read ferociously spicy), super tasty and cheap. Overall though I was not a fan. We stayed for 1 night at the end of our trip. Firstly I just didn’t like the area, I wish we had gone back to Colombo. The beach is fine but full of hawkers and mosquitoes. The biggest thing that put me off was my experience by the pool. My husband was going to the gym (which is in the other hotel) so I went to sit by the pool. As others have mentioned none of the loungers are actually on hotel property, all on the beach and although there are palm trees they do not provide full shade. Getting towels I had to speak to the attendant who gave me the 3rd degree on who I was, if I was a stewardess, where my friends were etc, not in an accusatory way, just really creepy. The towels themselves were gross by the way, totally threadbare and filthy. So already uncomfortable I went to sit down (with the attendant still hovering trying to talk to me) and realised a hawker was already making her way towards me trying to engage. I felt so uncomfortable on my own I just packed pack up and left and hid in the room until my husband came back. At breakfast they were doing the set menu thing which I find very odd as surely there is more waste that way as people have to order more to get the selection they want. They did give us the option to go next door to the jetwing blue buffet which we did, but again you have to run the gauntlet of hawkers. Overall as I said I would much rather have been back in Colombo. The 30 min transfer time you save is not worth staying in the hotel or area in my opinion.
