Great location, perfectly quiet, perfectly clean

I found it hard to check out of El Greco after 2 nights. It's everything I could wish for in a small city hotel - not glamorous or flashy, very comfortable with welcoming staff and exceptionally clean. The backrooms were cool and perfectly quiet, great bonus for a hotel on a busy pedestrian street. I would recommend El Greco to anyone looking for simple functional comfort in a great part of town.

I have stayed here before several times a few years ago. The hotel has just completed a major renovation and I had a fabulous 2 nights stay. The bed is wonderful with choice of pillows. Great shower. I was on 3rd floor with large balcony terrace. The staff are so friendly and helpful. Location fantastic. I wish I could have stayed longer and can't wait for my next visit. Highly recommended. The photo shows looking down the pedestrian street while having breakfast outside the hotel.

Could have been great stay except for grumpy lady

The best of this hotel is the location. The day time staff are very nice and informative, however the older grumpy women in the afternoon and evening has no people skills and doesn't care for costumer service. When asked for restaurant recommendation she just shrugs shoulders and tells you there are lot around the hotel. It is 50 meters from where Taxi can drop you off. I had contacted hotel prior to arrival so someone could help with 2 suite cases, however no one met me. It was hard for a solo petite women to drag 2 suite case up hill and over cobblestone even if it's 50 meters. Was assigned on 4th floor and there is elevator to 3rd floor and then a curving stair case to 4th floor, again no help available and had to climb with suite cases and hurt my foot. The terrace outside of room was very nice and nice view. Room was very basic, the bare minimum of comfort, small shower (I'm a petite) and only hand held shower. No outlet in bathroom, had to disconnect fridge by dresser with mirror to use blow dryer. 2 outlets by beds. No really an issue and made it work. Wifi very slow or non exciting. Room & terrace outside of room were clean. Breakfast was mediocre the best was the yogurt. Watermelon (only fresh fruit) canned peaches, 2 kinds of bread to toast and 2 kinds of dry cakes, coffee & tea and some cheese and ham, olives. Suppose to be served at 7:30 am however two mornings it was not ready and I had to leave on my tours without breakfast. On check out I let them know the day before so they could arrange for someone to help with my luggage this was set up with the young lady in the morning. On day of check out the grumpy woman had no one to help and just shrugged her usual shoulders. Just didn't care. Again had to drag my luggage down that curving stair way at least the Taxi I order he was kind enough to come and help with the luggage from hotel to where they can drive up to.
