This 4-star hotel is centrally situated with a beach at a distance of 1500 meters. Shopping centers nearby such as Yumbo and Kasbah are within short walking distance. Incredible experience start to finish (minus 1 grumpy lifeguard)

My partner and I stayed at this hotel for 10 nights and had the most wonderful experience. The room was a standard double and it was huge! Really comfy beds, loads of wardrobe space, a clean big bathroom and a spacious balcony. The room was clean and had everything we needed. You could pay extra for use of the safe however we didn’t take advantage of this. All of the staff were wonderful and we were greeted by the reception staff every time we walked in and out of the hotel. The staff in the restaurant again were friendly and welcoming. We were half board guests and if I’m honest, I am glad we didn’t pay for full board as the value for money we had with half board meant we didn’t feel it was needed. Half board included breakfast (with drinks) and dinner (drinks not included) at either the Hotel Rondo restaurant or the sister restaurant (1 minute walk away) which you had to pre book but was never an issue and all meats there were freshly grilled for you by the fantastic chefs. The only things that were not included were lunch and drinks- drinks are super affordable and we felt that we were not often at the hotel at lunchtime anyway. With that being said, the hotel also offers a ‘packed lunch’ option if you are out for the day and are all inclusive. There is a full programme of entertainment for adults and kids throughout the day and night. We didn’t engage with any of the day activities, however often went over to the sister hotel in the evening for the entertainment (karaoke, bingo, live music etc.). The bar there is good, however as the last half of our holiday ended up being in the school holidays, the queue to get a drink was LONG so we often only ended up getting 1. We had no issues with the queue out of school holiday time. Fantastic bar staff - shout out to Gian!! It was my partners birthday when we arrived and we were given a lovely bottle of bubbly and chocolates by the staff to celebrate- a lovely touch!! As a guest, you have use of both hotel pools which are clean and well looked after. The Hotel Rondo pool was often quiet and never an issue to find a space. The only one downside to our holiday was on our final day the lifeguard was rude and grumpy to all around the pool. Despite families using inflatables our whole holiday in the pool when it was quiet, on our final day we (and 2 other families) were told we were not allowed to take any inflatables in. It was delivered in a horrible tone and could have been discussed with the guests in a more professional manner… especially as it had not been a problem for the whole holiday! He then also went on to tell everyone to put their umbrellas down due to the wind (it was windy but had also been windy for the 2/3 days prior to this) which meant that some elderly couples and families were uncomfortable burning in the sun. This didn’t spoil our stay at the hotel but just put an unnecessary downer on our last day. Ending on a positive- The hotel has thought of absolutely everything from beach towel hire (€5 deposit), to a minibus to the beach (we walked down and it took about 20 minutes each way- a lovely walk), to taxi hire available within seconds!! A truly great hotel and team- thank you for making our holiday so special!

Refurbishment in some rooms be warned

The room sizes are amazing was only expecting a little tiny room with toilet. Internet is only free in lobby and even when you do pay its not the best service, Towels for pool are €10 deposits which you get back once towel is returned. Now some of the down sides to this hotel. They are refurbishing some on the rooms so if you are near these room (401-406) be warned. We was woken up several times in the morning from the banging and drilling from the workmen. So if you are expecting a nice relaxing layin or a afternoon nap don't expect it, we was above one of the rooms being refurbished. The lifts are very old and can only hold 4 people max. We got stuck in lift for 10min even with the correct amount of people in so I would say with luggage only go in with 2 people. Staying here you get the use of the property across the road which has a nicer pool and evening entertainment is also located here. But the sections which are meant to be smoking/non smoking do not exist and it was free for all which if you are a non smoker it can be rather frustrating. Food was nice and cocktails mighty strong

Family of 4 (2 adults and 2 adult children) staying in 2 rooms in The rondo We spent most of our time in the Miraflor, which is essentially an extension of the hotel, simply because the pool was better and there was little to no atmosphere at the rondo Positives Clean, no issues with sun beds, really comfy beds, really large rooms, lots of storage space for clothes, Worth booking in for the grill over in the Miraflor The white wine was lovely I brought a couple of issues up and they were resolved quickly Bus service to beach available (we didn’t use) Coffee was really delicious 7up free on tap, so glad of this as I am diabetic. Negatives Most drinks are absolutely awful. The vodka tastes like hand sanitiser, very limited choice of drinks on All inclusive. You can pick from 3 cocktails which taste awful, I definitely wouldn’t recommend going AI. Not worth it at all. Cards for room doors keep stop working. Food is very poor and all the other reviews about the temp is spot on. Nothing is hot, I mean nothing. It’s luke warm at best. The quality of the food is extremely low The paper cups you get for drinks are useless Building work going on at one end of the hotel. Not enough staff on the Miraflor bar.
