What's the weather like in Texas in September?

Found in the south of the United States, Texas is a massive state with landscapes ranging from dry deserts to forests, beaches and big cities. Due to its size, there’s different weather depending on which part of Texas you visit, with the west generally drier than the east where conditions are more humid. September’s a very hot month across the state, so you can look forward to lots of warm and sunny weather if you go on holiday to Texas at this time of year.

Not far from the Gulf of Mexico in southeast Texas, Houston has an average temperature of 27ºC in September, with highs of 31ºC and lows of 22ºC. With just over 140mm of rain expected across the month, it’s quite a wet time of year for the city. Further inland, Austin has around half this amount of rain, along with very similar temperatures to Houston. The weather’s virtually the same in Dallas in the north east, while it gets a bit cooler in the evenings in El Paso, which is in the far west.
