What's the weather like in India in March?

India is a vast country with beaches, cities, mountains and deserts, so climates vary depending on where you visit. In general the hot, dry season lasts from March to June, with monsoons expected between July and September and cooler weather from October until April. In March, most of the country gets hotter as the summer months draw closer, so make sure you bring plenty of sun cream and seek shade in the hottest part of the day, especially if you are visiting the beautiful coasts or bustling cities.

In the popular coastal region, Goa, temperatures hover around 28°C on average at this time of year. In the peak of the afternoon temperature reach up to 33°C, with a dip at night to lows of 23°C. Goa expects virtually no rain at this time of year. Further north and in New Delhi, temperatures are cooler with an average of 22°C, highs of 28°C and lows of a mild 15°C at night. In the city, just 10mm of rain is forecast in March.
