    What's the weather like in Heraklion in September?

    Sitting on the north coast of Crete, Heraklion is a wonderful Greek destination full of history and culture. It has a Mediterranean climate which brings hot summers and mild winters to the resort, with September having some of the warmest temperatures of the year. Conditions are cooling down a bit as summer turns into autumn, making this the perfect time to visit if you want to avoid the biggest crowds and highest temperatures.


    In September, the average temperature in Heraklion is 23ºC, with highs of 26ºC in the hottest part of the afternoon. After a day at the beach or sightseeing in the local area, the average low dips to 19ºC in the evenings, ideal for a relaxing al fresco evening meal.
