      Varadero

With its location on the east of Cuba’s north coast, Varadero has a very warm climate with a distinct wet and dry season. The temperature usually remains quite steady in the twenties with highs of 31°C in the summer. The best time to visit Varadero for heat and sunshine is between July and September. This is when the sun stays out the longest and temperatures have soared to the low-thirties. The dry season is slightly cooler with an average temperature of 24°C. January is the coldest month of the year, but it's the best time to go to Varadero if you want to enjoy a more comfortable climate. Rainfall is heaviest during the wet season from May to October with up to 12 rainy days per month. Showers can be very heavy and fast, so make sure to pack your raincoat and umbrella if you’re planning a holiday at this time. If you like cooler temperatures with less rainfall, travel during the dry season. You’ll still get to enjoy plenty of warmth and sunshine, but there’s less chance that you’ll get caught out in a downpour. Humidity levels are quite high throughout the year, but they tend to reach a max of 85% from September to October. Trade winds help to control the humid weather while giving you a refreshing break from the heat.
