Elevators will have you mad.
This place is a joke. The elevators never work. I had to wait 24 minutes for an elevator one day. Then 17 minutes that afternoon. You can not use stairwell to enter other floors Hotel is old and needs remodeling bad I would never stay here again although the location was good we never stayed in the stinky room. Floors will make your bare feet dirty!
Anniversary trip
My husband and I went to Vegas for our wedding anniversary last week. We stayed at Ballys for a change of scenery since we typically stay at Paris. Big mistake. Upon arrival (early evening) we had difficulties checking in using the self check-in machines. A gentleman working helped us check in. We asked to upgrade and he said there was an upgrade to a room with a tub with jets and a strip view. The view was okay… not really of strip but you could see it if you look far to the right. He quoted us $40 more per night for the upgrade but the bill reflected it was actually $45 which okay we could get over. The tub looked amazing… until you turned on the jets. When the jets were powered on bugs came flowing out - lots of them. We called and asked for them to come clean and fix it. Many hours later and a second call down, a wonderful cleaning lady named Petway (sp) came and confirmed it was bugs but stated she would need to let someone else know so they could come fix it. She didn’t clean it but did give us fresh towels and asked if we needed anything else. We didn’t hear back of course from anyone else. It seemed to be a situation where no one knew who was responsible. We would have pushed harder but it was a shorter trip so moving rooms would have been a hassle and we had show and dinner reservations we didn’t want to potentially miss. We wouldn’t have had more time to use the tub. The hotel itself seemed more run down than usual…one elevator we always seemed to get had broken glass and someone had etched into the glass everywhere. There was a couple instances where cockroaches were seen but luckily not in our room just in the casino. I don’t typically spend the time to write out reviews but this experience is still bothering me several days later so I figured I needed to share our story. Hopefully it’s a staffing thing and eventually it will all bounce back but for now I’d save yourself some hassle and stay elsewhere.
Fun couples trip
I have been coming to Vegas twice a year since 1998 so I've stayed at the majority of the hotels. We traveled with another couple that didn't want to spend a lot of money so we decided to stay at Bally's. Our room was comped for 4 nights other than resort fees. I was a little worried being that I heard it was under construction and I didn't actually notice any. The hotel itself is nothing exciting but the location is great. Our room was clean, it is needing updated, the furniture is worn etc. We had a view of the strip and the high roller which was nice. I was a little worried when I saw we were on the 5th floor, I thought for sure we would be looking at rooftop mechanical systems. We were in the jubilee tower. We didn't have our room cleaned but had no problem getting new towels etc from house keeping. They were all very nice. The pool is a bit of a hike from the rooms but it was very laid back and pretty mellow, didn't have any trouble finding a lounge chair. Our flight landed at 6:30 we got a cab to Ballys, walked right in and we're helped immediately and in our room within 15 minutes. That was the fastest check and I've ever had. You do hear a lot of traffic noise when you stay at Bally's, same with flamingo though. If you're looking for a decent place to stay in a good location I would stay at Bally's again.
