Bayfront Park in Miami

In Miami's vibrant Downtown, Bayfront Park overlooks the beautiful shores of Biscayne Bay. This is one of the city's most popular attractions, with plenty of shops and eateries to explore and all within easy walking distance. This makes it the perfect place to visit if you're short on time or don't want to hire a car.

If you want to experience a slice of Miami life away from the usual hot spots, then this is the place to be. The park offers a tranquil spot where you can stop, relax, and enjoy the view before heading back into the Bayside area for even more shopping and entertainment.

Visit the marketplace

Miami's Bayside is famous for its market and amphitheatre; this is a large entertainment complex with high-end shops, superb restaurants and a massive open-air festival centre. Throughout the year, they host performances from some of the finest musicians in the world. If you're looking for a fabulous atmosphere in the heart of the city, this is the place to go.

The marketplace is open from 10am until 10pm (Monday to Thursday), then on Fridays and Saturdays from 10am until 11pm, and on Sunday from 11am until 9pm. However, it's not unusual for the restaurants and eateries surrounding this area to stay open later, so you don't have to rush around: just chill out, relax, and do a bit of people watching.

Go on a cruise

Hop on a boat and enjoy fabulous views of Star Island, home to some of the world's most luxurious celebrity residences. Don't forget your camera, because you never know if you're going to bump into a star or two and get that all-important selfie with them.

Other places to visit

Bayside is only a few minutes' drive from the Miami Children's Museum. This is a wonderful place to bring the kids as there are tons of interactive exhibits, so they can really get a ”hands-on' experience. At the 'All About Art' display, children can learn about different forms of art and try them out for themselves. From paints to clay, there's everything your little ones need to enjoy a day full of creativity and fun.

Accommodation in and around Bayfront Park

This part of Miami is home to a wide selection of premium 4-star and 5-star hotels, with all the amenities you need for a great Miami holiday. One of our favourites is the Hotel Beaux Arts (Autograph Collection). Here you can enjoy stunning ocean views, a free breakfast, and chic minimalist bedrooms, but best of all, it's only a 10-minute walk to Bayfront Park.

Alternatively, there's plenty of affordable accommodation that's great if you're looking for a budget-friendly holiday. Additionally, virtually every hotel in Miami offers free Wi-Fi, so you can upload those holiday photos onto Facebook and Instagram straight away.

Visit Miami's Museum Park

At Museum Park, you can spend time at the Philip and Patricia Frost Museum of Science. This is the perfect place to visit if you're a tech lover. Then head to the Pérez Art Museum's contemporary and modern art collection. Or if you fancy exploring further afield, go to Miami South Beach, where golden sands and water sports attract the young and incredibly trendy, and famous Art Deco landmarks line the shore. The restaurants are amazing, and there's plenty of lively beach bars dotted around. Finally, as the sun goes down, take a seat on a bench in Bayfront Park and watch the sky change colour - a perfect end to a perfect day!
