We stayed at the club level room for Christmas and it was wonderful. Our room was big, nice bathroom (no tub however), comfortable bed. Amenities with club level were great, they seem to have everything back now. Food options and drink options very good, they also stocked our fridge for us with waters as requested. The view from our room was unexpectedly lovely, we could see cinderella's castle, see fireworks, and even hear some of the music with the night show. The lodge atmosphere is wonderful and beautifully decorated for Christmas. I wish they had some sort of intermittent entertainment in the lobby, such as carolers or a pianist or violinist...the lodge is modeled after the one in Yellowstone, and because of such, is designed such that people are naturally attracted to the lobby (all 7 floors have seating around the lobby area where you can look down). Having this would had made the hotel essentially perfect. Gift shop has some unique souvenirs which were fun to look at and consider purchasing. Staff were very friendly. Parking was easy and close to the hotel. Easy to get to our rooms from the lobby. Rooms were quiet, never heard anyone outside or our neighbors. Fantastic experience. We will be back.

Nice Resort, Horrible Food and other glitches

Beautiful resort and decent amenities but the food ultimately will prevent us from coming back. Good: -Beautiful and tranquil and during Christmas can't be beat. You will be transported to a fairy tale like setting. -Nice boat ride to Magic Kingdom -Great Pools and one with slide and kids play area Bad: -Food!!! Just horibble:( -Raging Forks: quick grab with zero variety. No milk for coffee- ever! just cheap coffee mate creamers-yuck! Made from powder scrambled eggs- r u kidding me??! No maple syrup or whipped cream available for waffles. Our son couldnt force himself to eat the slimy table syrup included with mickey waffles. -The same items every day and by day 3 we were willing to go hungry or cab outside WDW for real food. -Whispering Canyon: bad tasting and over- priced. Had reservations for breakfast and dinner and each time was very underwhelming. Food had no flavor or was foul. Avocado toast at breakfast ruined as it was covered with mustard drenched jack fruit. R u kidding me? -Outdoor restaurant and grill: a little better and had fish and salad options. We ordered a bottle of wine with dinner- not a cheap one- and they presented it with plastic cups!! That was the last straw for us. -Room: small but we managed. Safe was broken and not repaired till second day. Room was frigid even with heat on and extra blankets. The bed linens only include a sheet and super think blanket. Water smells funny in taps as well. -Domestic dispute 2 doors down from us on our floor and police in the hallway talking at night for 1hr just left a bad taste in our mouths. -Disney Magic Express: Arrived on time to take us to airport but stopped to pick up one family at grand floridian. That family forget luggage and forced the bus back to the resort just a couple miles to the airport. Bus load of angry people and we nearly missed our flight. Had to beg to be let off at the curb and ran for the door with our luggage. Never taking the Magical Express again.

Not what it used to be.

Disney appears to be cutting back a lot and services that made visiting the resorts easier and less expensive. Lets start with the Magic Bus service from the airpot, Disney had a program where you check your luggage at your home airport and the luggage would end up right in your resort room, when you arrive in Orlando you would get a nice bus ride to your resort, all at no additional cost. Starting in January this service is no longer free. Arriving at the resort I was shocked to see that valet parking is now $33.00 per day: yes per day. I pulled up to the resort and nobody approached me to offer baggage assistance. I waited and finally decided to bring it to my room myself. Noted also was that there were only two desk services representatives working,(during holiday season). I know, they will try to blame COVID for that. My room was fair, the pull out couch was horrendous and had a mattress was only about 3 inches thick. The room was very clean and well appointed and as always the resort was beautiful and the pool areas were awesome. Some of the "magic" appears to have diminished since the COVID thing started.
