Walt Disney World Resort Hotels

One of the biggest decisions when planning and booking your holiday to Walt Disney World Resort in Florida is choosing which accommodation is going to be right for you. There are so many great hotels to pick from so, first thing’s first, you need to decide whether you want to stay at one of the many on-site Disney Resort Hotels or instead, one of the off-site ones. No matter where you choose, you’ll never be far from the magic of Disney, so read on to find out a bit more information on each type.

Disney Resort Hotels

Obviously staying at one of the Disney Resort Hotels has its advantages, which is why it’s the option that most people tend to go for. Each Hotel has its own unique magical theme, so your Disney experience continues throughout the duration of your stay, not just while you’re in the Disney Parks. You’ll be close to all the action, so you can pop back easily, whether you forget something or just fancy a lunchtime dip in the Hotel pool. And, of course, you’re guaranteed the great service, quality facilities and excellent attention to detail that Disney is so famous for.

Staying in one of the Disney Resort Hotels can both save you money and enhance your whole Disney experience. For a start, when you arrive in Florida, you can take advantage of Disney’s complimentary transportation by getting Disney’s Magical Express from the airport to your Disney Resort Hotel. Then in addition to that, you can continue to enjoy free transportation to get around each day of your holiday. Alternatively, if you choose to hire a car, Disney Resort Hotel guests can park for free at all of the Disney Parks throughout the Resort.

As well as the advantages of location and transportation, there are a number of other main benefits of booking Disney Resort Hotel. One is that you must be staying at one of the Disney Resort Hotels in order to purchase a Disney Dining Plan. And another? Guests staying on Resort can take advantage of Extra Magic Hours, which is when the Disney Parks open early and close late, giving you more time to enjoy all the fun of the attractions. And finally, guests staying at certain Disney Resort Hotels can tap into the magic with their very own MagicBand, which can be used to enter your room, buy food and merchandise, enter the Parks and access your previously made Disney FastPass+ selections. For more information on the MagicBand, go to our MyMagic+ page.

Off-site hotels

The Disney Resort Hotels aren’t always for everyone, which is why there’s still the option to stay in an off-site hotel too. You’ve read about the benefits of staying on-site, but here are a few reasons why you might choose to stay outside of Walt Disney World Resort in Florida itself.

There’s an excellent selection of off-site accommodation, ranging from normal hotels and apartments to villas with your own private pool. So, depending on the size of your party, this may be a more appealing option for you. Staying off-site doesn’t mean that you’re going to be miles away from Walt Disney World Resort in Florida; you’ll only be a short drive away and it gives you the freedom to see a bit more of what Orlando has to offer, should you want to.

And finally, though you may not be able to take advantage of Disney’s complimentary transportation options when you’re staying off-site, you’ll be pleased to know that car hire is included in the price of all of our Orlando package holidays, so you’re free to come and go to the Parks as you please.
