Perfect stay in Tea Factory

It is more than what you expect! The hotel is unique and beautiful. I would come back anytime again. Staff is very professional, dinner and breakfast was bufet with many type of food and very delicious.

It's a slog to get to the tea factory, up a windy road. But it's well worth the trip. The tea factory, converted to a boutique hotel, sits on the crest of a hill, surrounded by tea plants. They serve you tea upon arriving. We walked around the grounds but wished there was an organized trail for guests. We went downstairs to take a steam bath but learned we had to give them a heads up for the steam bath to heat up. I went upstairs to tell the hotel staff they should have advised us of that. They took the $15 charge off the bill. The steam bath, it turned out, never quite got hot enough. I had paid for dinner -- they call it half board -- when I booked the room, and that was a good call. The dining room is large. We sat by the window and ordered from a menu that gave you four choices for the appetizer and the entree. Nuwan, our waiter, was attentive. It would be too far to go to town to eat, so eating dinner at the hotel was a great choice. The next morning, we got to talking with Shanmu, the sou chef who was from the area and was proud of the hotel's food. For breakfast, he made me the best dosa I've ever eaten. Breakfast consists of western and Sri Lankan food. Nuwan provided great service once again.

We had a lovely experience at the Heritance Tea Factory. The views overlooking the tea estate were amazing. There is an excellent outdoor play area to keep children entertained. The staff was fabulous and always willing to help.
