Excellent hotel, very clean and the food is very tasty and varied. Brilliant service from the chefs! Location is close to beach and other restaurants. Everywhere in the hotel is clean. The hotel is Spanish so does look dated. The tv in the rooms have bbc one, itv, and bbc 2. Which came in handy to watch the six nations

Reception: Reception staff friendly, efficient and very helpful. Able to check in over an hour before 2pm check in time. Room: Positive: Room 221 Hotel style room, quiet pool view, balcony privacy screen.Near a busy road but quiet once doors shut. Bed comfy. Hot shower/full bath. Thin walls but quiet until 8am, so all good. Negative; Could do with small fridge to keep bottles of water etc. cold. Pools: Loved the quiet pool area, very cold when you first get in but only takes about 20 secs to feel fine. Pool near bar was a busier area but very nice area to sit and have a coffee/drink. Bar: Card system for everything including drinks but that was fine, lengthy wait at times but this was more to do with older guests seeming to not know how to queue or what to do with cards etc. Suggest brief guide in variety of languages that can’t be missed on entry to bar or bar top. Dining room/food Dining room varied between quiet and extremely busy during our stay but we could always get a table in a quieter area for each meal. Food - loved the breakfasts and tended to make a sandwich for lunch and have that with salad, struggled most at dinner as do not eat pork or fish and struggle with chicken - but always found something to eat. Loved all the salads, fruit and variety of cakes. Think vegetarians may struggle for protein (except for eggs, cheese, yoghurts). Vegans may really struggle. People who do not like healthy food, salads, fruit and veg would struggle too, plenty of lovely hot chips though. Fellow guests; Except for one large, very noisy, rude family who pushed in, had no regards for anyone else and left mess everywhere that stayed for a couple of nights the majority of fellow guests were older French people. This created a lovely, happy, relaxed atmosphere and they were all really polite and friendly. The downside of this was that they seem to get all courses at once including a small piece of each cake so there was lots of food wastage and things ran out. Once i had spotted this behaviour it was fine as just got my small piece of 1 cake on arrival to the dining room. Hotel staff: All polite, friendly and happy. The animation staff in particular were fantastic, always had big smiles or their faces. The show chef was the only exception, no time management skills to keep hot food replenished, waiting until all portions gone until started cooking the whole next batch, also appeared miserable and not wanting to be there at every meal. Needs training or replacing with a new ‘people person’ show chef. Misc: Resort lovely, quiet at end of Sept/early Oct, end of season, quite a few shops shut etc. Safe to run/walk very early morning as plenty of others doing the same. Weather - 23 degrees most days but sun hot so came back really brown without sun bathing. Public buses are great, book at bus station. Need to wear mask. Would highly recommend day trips to Barcelona and Girona. Would be happy to stay at this hotel again.

Just the job

Just what we both needed for a quick seven day holiday, the price was right and so was the timing for our holiday. The jacuzzis on the roof and pool bar was just the job, the temperature was between 24 & 28 in the day and always 18-20 at night
