Second visit to this hotel.
Nice hotel comfy rooms lovely food and entertainment every night though it,s on a 7 day cycle so if you are there for 2 weeks it,s a repeat.Bus from the town stops right outside the front door so it,s every handy. The twice weekly market is a 10 minute walk away and the beach is about 15 minutes walk.
Pleasant. Nice staff. Good food. NYE.
It’s fundamentally a good hotel but for me just missing the x factor. + The outdoor pool was like an ice bath (expected at this time of year) but a decent size and clean. + The indoor pool needed to be booked in advance but plenty of availability, warm with small but good sauna. Take a head covering with you (for everyone). + The room had everything you need. Functional, good Wi-Fi, clean but that’s about it. + Our room balcony overlooked the pool, with a nice view. + The bar staff were a delight. Jesus, Tery, Antonio and Adrian were always cheerful and seemed to really enjoy serving the guests and made it a really nice experience. + The dining staff were also very welcoming and efficient. The New Years Eve Gala dinner they put on was really good and fortunately we were put on a table with a delightful couple (Walter and Mo) and had a lovely meal with really good wine!!! + Didn’t have much to do with reception but they were really helpful on check in. + We had a mix of fussy and adventurous eaters. They cater for everyone. The hot meat selection was always on point and boat loads of brown food. Can’t fault it. + Loads of street parking in nice quiet area at the back of hotel. Don’t bother paying the hotel’s 10 euros for their parking. + Benidorm Palace across the road. We booked the hotel direct and got free tickets included. Really enjoyed the show (note you could have free airport transfers or these tickets). + Location was ok if you’re mobile like us but you wouldn’t want to stay at the hotel all day and it’s about 10 minutes on a steady walk to the beach. - Biggest disappointment of mine was New Years Eve after the Gala dinner which was so well thought through and planned. The entertainment was a DJ who was dire and there was no celebratory ‘stuff’. Other hotels laid on a few fireworks etc. Even a few decent party poppers or balloons or something would have been good. Fortunately, we were in good company so it wasn’t such a big deal. Based on 2 adults and 2 children, this night alone cost £470 with an average for the rest of the nights at £170 (which is fine). My advice would be to leave the hotel after the gala and head to the huge celebrations at the beach. - As stated, don’t pay for the hotel parking - Observation, the beds are quite hard which is fine for me but the Mrs not so keen. - Standard observation of mine. The draft beer was Amstel and there were local spirits etc but for whatever reason it didn’t seem to matter how much you drank you never seemed to get drunk. The local white wine was nice but the red wasn't great.
It had it’s highs and lows
This was mine and my mums first Christmas abroad so wanted it to be special. I will start with the positives. Entertainment was excellent. Every night something was on, live music, drag act, flamenco dancing, circus type act, street dancing, quiz, karaoke and disco music. Great atmosphere and good vibes. Cleanliness of room and hotel was excellent, clean towels every day and bed was made daily. Nice to be Set back from the lively seafront but could walk down if you wanted too. Me and my mum both have bad knees so was a bit of a trek for us but was nice to be in the sun and we took our time. We Easily completed 8000/10000 steps there and back, with looking in the shops. You can get a number 10 bus which were very regular to sea front/old town or anywhere else for 1.60€ bargain. You have to wear masks on the buses. We went for Christmas and the sun was out every day, temp about 20 degrees Celsius. It’s chilly in the shade but I didn’t wear a cardigan once, although my mum feels the cold easily so it’s down to your own body temperature. It was hard to know what to pack for but mostly I wore a T-shirt and leggings but wish I packed skirts and vests. I did get a slight tan from all the walking. There were a few people sunbathing on the beach, not many in the sea. Benidorm palace show €34 great night. Food looked rough. Can’t fault the coffee anywhere. My Negatives if the hotel Although it all the food looked lovely it was very Over cooked. Tough meat and fish. Limited choice for vegans and vegetarians. Ok if you’re happy with Salad and pasta. Not sure what was in the sauces. Desert, bread and butter pudding, custard, rice pudding was the staple. Tinned and fresh fruit. Some small French cakes. Expensive drinks if half board. 9€ for a JD AND COKE Rooms at the front are very noisy with traffic although nice view of the mountain. Little information given by staff Main Entertainment starts quiet late 10 pm Evening meal stats at 7 pm No kettle in room. Massive regret not packing one Top tip. Photo the QR code in room, this will give you the menu and entertainment info Mattress too firm. Need to buy a swimming hat for indoor pool. Very tight and uncomfortable No paella. Would I go back? yes if the food was better cooked and was more variety for vegetarians. I would give 5 stars if we was not in the front, had a softer bed, a kettle and better food. An information list of do’s and dont’s would be good.
