Alpha Apartments

Apr 2022 | sarahtS30NX

We booked Alpha apartments in March 2021, a year in advance as we booked through jet2 holidays and got it at a really good price. There was 7 of us and we booked 2 rooms. We originally booked for 10 nights but due to jet2 amending the flight we got an extra day for no charge. We flew from East Mids Airport on 28th March 2022. We then got a coach transfer that dropped us off right outside Alpha. On entry everything was the same as it was when I last visited the alpha 5yrs previously. The check in was nice and simple, we needed to pay either £60 or €60 deposit so we paid in British pound. Before our holiday I had a few room requests. We asked for no higher then the 5th floor and after reading previous reviews I noticed that someone had said that some rooms have a washing machine so I also requested for a washing machine. We got given our special requests. We was on floor 1. We got rooms 1C and 1D. The room 1D was the one with a washing machine in it. The rooms have had new front doors and a lick of paint to refresh the rooms and also new black out curtain to both patio doors that lead out onto a very large balcony. We also had a new TV aswell as last time we stayed they had the old CRT big TVs. We got all of the free TV Channels BBC1 & 2, ITV1, Channel 4 and 5 and a few more you get on Freeview. The children had the beds in the bedroom and myself and hubby had the sofa and the pull out folding bed underneath the sofa. All the kitchen area was the same. Well equipped with 2 gas hobs, microwave, toaster, kettle etc aswell as an electric oven. Downstairs in the bar area, they sell food made fresh on order they also have a few machines for the kids and a pool table at €1 per game. No entertainment on an evening. The pool outside is basic but unfortunately the pool we could not use because the water was brown this was because Benidorm had dust a few days before we arrived that had blown over from the Sahara which had settled in the water and bottom of the pool. Apparently they also had problems with the pump for the pool aswell so not sure if this was caused by the dust. Plus the weather was not warm enough to get into the pool as it was quite cold. After 7 days or so the pool was clean and open for use thanks to the poop cleaner who spent days on trying to get rid if the dust in the water. During our stay we had some horrible weather, wind, rain and only 10c. This was very unusual for Benidorm. Unfortunately myself and husband fell poorly during our stay, we was both bed ridden for nearly 3 days due to a chest infection as I have asthma so took it worse. I felt sorry for my kids having to stay in but thankfully they was happy to play pool downstairs and I gave them some money to buy food from the bar, also its very handy as alpha have a trolley full of 5 litre bottles of water you can buy for €1.20 a bottle. They also have a vending machine near the lifts for any sweets, chocolate and drinks. The only issues we had at the Alpha was the rooms was cold, because of the weather. There is 2 radiators in the rooms, a small on in the bedroom and a bigger one in the lounge/kitchen area. These radiators was only warm to the touch and was on early morning and evening. What we did was put one of the gas hobs on to get it warmed up abit. Also the beds are very had to sleep on, maybe its because we are used to having a memory foam mattress at home but they gave me a bad back because they are hard mattress. We only got one pillow each I did request more Pillows but this did not happen, they gave me sheets instead. Toilet rolls are not provided so bring some with you. Towels are changed around twice while we was there, we took our own towels anyway and they was washed after use. Not sure if i would visit again. Benidorm has changed for the worse now as its lovely during the day but at night it changes into something nasty and not suitable for kids.

Terrible facilities

Turned up checked in with the most miserable guy ever slammed keys on counter and left us to find our way no directions or where anything was in hotel. Got into the room extremly basic oitdated and our room filthy tab ends on floors cig packets under tables. Pubes in shower and sink and human facaes still left in toilet. Room leaned on our last day and new set of towels on 2 nd day that was ut for the 2 weeks. 1 roll of toilet paper anymore you had to ask reception nightmare when you got a family. ONLY good thing was next doors to tommys bar

Can’t find a fault

Jan 2022 | george h

Stayed here 7 nights, can’t find a fault. Clean, cheap, and very close to the many bars of the English strip, plus old town and the beach are less than a 10 minute walk. Ideal location for your typical Benidorm tourist like myself. Excellent deals in the hotel bar, cheaper than most of the bars around.
