Beaches
Costa Adeje is a long promenade of ten beaches along a 10km stretch of Tenerife's coast, most of which boast white or golden sand (imported from the Sahara), plus all the loungers, parasols and beachside eateries you'd expect. You can easily walk from your resort to the next one along or even the one after that. So, you'll see a lot of different beaches during your stay, from busy and popular to the quieter and more upmarket.
A must-see is Playa del Bobo, a small and peaceful resort with a smooth curve of beach. Waters here are sheltered due to the shape of the coastline, so it's a great place for you to go swimming, paddling and toe-dipping. Or head to Playa Fanabe to be right in the thick of it. Great for families with older kids, it's the place for water sports, mini golf and cycling, with a bike hire hut close by.
Day Trips
With so many varied activities within day-trip distance, things to do in Costa Adeje are right there for the taking. So, if you've got adventurous children just itching to explore, this region of Tenerife is just for you. Head to Siam Water Park to cool off and experience the thrill of 29 different rides, from Wave Palace where you'll splash against the biggest artificial waves in the world, to the 76m Tower of Power where you can reach speeds of 80 km/hour. Or you can talk with the animals at Jungle Park, a vast and authentic jungle enclosure where more than 300 animals across 100 species roam free. Catch one of the park's popular daily demonstrations, such as the Sea Lion Show or free-flying birds of prey.
Or maybe you want to shop, shop, shop at Los Cristianos, where the town's famous vibrant market stocks everything from belts and handbags to fabrics and spices. It's a great place to pick up souvenirs too, but remember to haggle like the locals do to get the best price.
Geology and natural wonders
In Costa Adeje, things to do are all around you, if you're adventurous at heart. Strap on a pair of walking boots, grab some water and sunblock and spend a day in the mountains. Head inland to the Teide National Park and you'll discover the most beautiful terrain surrounding Mount Tiede, the world's third largest volcano. The highest point in Spain, the summit can be reached in five hours on foot, or take the cable car and enjoy those views in just eight minutes.
Or, close to Adeje town is the ravine known as Barranco del Infierno, or Hell's Canyon. A haven for hikers, it's a 6.5 km walk from end to end, taking in waterfalls, caves and rare plant and animal species. This important area is closely protected, which is why only 300 people are allowed in each day. Booking ahead is essential, but you'll find it's so worth it for an unforgettable experience.
