Where can I get emergency medical treatment in Playa Blanca?

In Playa Blanca, the Dr Mager Clinic is in Avenida El Varadero. This is the road that runs down from the main roundabout at the entrance to Playa Blanca towards the sea and the pedestrian shopping street – Calle Limones – where the tourist information office is located.

The main hospital on the island is located just on the outskirts of the capital, Arrecife. If you are taken there for treatment, you may be admitted to the accidents and emergencies department.
Most of the staff here do not speak English but they will be courteous and treat you in the same way as a local patient. You will need your EHIC if you are admitted to hospital.
You should also be aware that unless an ambulance has been requested to take you to hospital by a doctor or member of the emergency services, you will incur a charge for this transport.


How do I get from Playa Blanca to Puerto del Carmen?

Local buses (guaguas – pronounced wah-wah) are without a doubt the most economical means of transportation to get to the main tourist centres as well as almost all the villages on the island.
Buses in all the tourist resorts operate every 20 mins in daylight hours.


Can I take a ferry to Fuerteventura?

There is currently just the one ferry route running between Lanzarote and Fuerteventura operated by 3 ferry companies – Fred Olsen Express, Lineas Maritimas Romero & Naviera Armas. The Playa Blanca to Corralejo ferry crossing operates daily with a scheduled sailing duration from about 25 minutes.
