You’ll find a great selection of dining here, from traditional Italian restaurants to American food on-the-go.
Head to the snowy slopes of Sestriere, once graced by some of the world’s greatest Olympians. You’ll find yourself passing Sauze d’Ouix and Montgenevre in France on the Milky Way pass. Stroll through to the resort of the town and mix with the locals at one of the restaurants, serving everything from classic Italian pizzas to local white wines. Have fun après ski-style in the lively bars and clubs, open ‘til the early hours of the morning.
Split into four areas – Banchette, Fraiteve, Sises and Rio Nro, skiers can take on the same runs as used by Olympians at the 2006 Turin Winter Olympics. The small hills of the village make ideal slopes for beginners. While easy blue runs found midway up mountains are perfect for the kids who’d like to have a go on the slopes. The best placed in Sestriere for red runs are Motta or Sises nearer the village. And in the summer, swap your skis for a bike and take on the mountain trails.
From fine Italian dining to international cuisine – you’ll be spoilt for choice when it comes to places to eat in Sestriere. Stop at a pizzeria for wood-fired mozzarella and tomato pizzas and warm, buttery crepes for the kids. There are also classic Italian spots where you’ll find plates of fresh spaghetti served with creamy ricotta. If you’re peckish after a long day skiing, you’ll find loads of places to eat on the slopes. Head to the rustic-style chalet fresh homemade cakes and strong cups of Italian coffee.
Eat, drink and be merry once the sun sets behind the snow-capped mountains of Sestriere. Home to 20 bars and nightclubs in the central square, you will find the perfect spot to kick back and relax all night. Enjoy fruity cocktails before dancing the night away to latest chart-toppers in one of the discos. Or for something a little quieter, head to one of the stylish wine bars for a glass of the local tipple.
