If rollercoasters are your thing, don’t miss The Revenge of the Mummy. One of the most exciting thrills in the whole park, this indoor rollercoaster plunges you into darkness, and takes you through fireballs, plagues of insects and an army of warrior mummies. Or perhaps try the Hollywood Rip Ride Rockit, towering 17 storeys over the park, it’s Orlando’s tallest rollercoaster and a fantastic interactive ride where you pick your favourite music track and then get to edit your video experience to music after you come back to earth.

There’s plenty to do for younger visitors too on your Universal Studios holiday. Our favourite is The Cat in the Hat, a fun-packed ride bringing the popular children’s book alive with plenty of colours, sounds and surprises for little ones. The ride takes you through the crooked house, where The Cat in the Hat and his furry friends, Thing 1 and Thing 2 are up to their usual mischief and mayhem.

Try a little magic yourself with a stop at The Wizarding World of Harry Potter. Start with a visit to Hogsmead village, where you can shop for a wand at Ollivanders wand shop, or try some butter beer in the brilliant Hogs Head pub. Then, take a ride through the classrooms and corridors of Hogwarts itself. As well as visiting Dumbledore’s office, the Gryffyndor common room and other well-loved Hogwarts favourites, you’ll get to take a ride with Harry, Ron and Hermione through the sky, weaving in and out of the famous turrets high above the clouds.

Staying on site at one of Universal Studios’ luxury hotels is the perfect way to get the most out of your visit. As well as exclusive access to the park before it opens to the general public, there is a huge range of on-site facilities to keep everyone entertained. With excellent kids clubs and evening babysitting facilities, mum and dad can also get their opportunity to relax. Why not treat yourself to a spa day, or enjoy a round of golf at one of the outstanding courses like Grand Cyprus Golf Club or the Windermere Country Club. When it comes to food and drink, you’ll also be spoilt for choice, with a great range of restaurants and bars to choose from. Don’t miss the lasagne at Mama Della’s Italian at the Lowes Portofino, and The Kitchen at the Hard Rock Hotel for top-notch burgers, milkshakes and great classic American fare.
