Although Miami has some of the USA’s best beaches, make sure you take a break from your sun lounger and take a stroll around the historic South Beach district. It’s the area for which Miami is most famous, and has the largest collection of original Art Deco architecture in the world. The iconic buildings, with their geometric design, are painted in bright colours, which really do dazzle against the azure sky. Have your camera at the ready, because you’ll also see classic cars driving up and down Miami’s boulevards and avenues, giving the whole city a uniquely chic and old world feel.

For a taste of Spanish culture, head to Espanola Way –a little block in South Beach filled with lively bars, restaurants and craft shops. There are plenty of great boutiques and art galleries where you can pick up some unique pieces to take back home. Another great stop-off is Little Havana, and in particular the area around Calle 8 - pronounced ‘calle ocho’ - where you’ll feel the Cuban influence in the food, music and people. You’ll see traditional cigar rolling, Spanish road signs and clubs and bars playing live Cuban music all over this vibrant district.

Seaquarium offers the opportunity to have an unforgettable swim with dolphins and seals. One of the oldest aquariums in the USA, it was used as the set for the original Flipper TV series –in fact, Flipper’s relatives are still living in the aquarium today. On Jungle Island, you get to cuddle baby tigers, kangaroos or even a lemur, and you’ll also see a colourful array of other birds, reptiles and plant life. The emphasis is on learning about conservation and protecting the endangered species for future generations to enjoy. It’s a great day out for younger holidaymakers and those young at heart.

There’s no better place to base yourself on your Miami Holiday than Miami Beach. A nine-mile long stretch of golden sand and palm trees, there are a pick of fabulous hotels to choose from - from family-friendly resorts with plenty of activities, to quirky boutique hotels close to the action. South Beach boasts Miami’s most stunning Art Deco landmarks, and this is the place for a luxury holiday in historic accommodation with spectacular views across the ocean. This whole area is alive with great shopping, restaurants, bars and nightclubs, so you’ll never be far from the party scene.
