Lagos – Weather

Lagos is a popular resort in the Algarve with hot summers and cooler winters. Everlasting sunshine welcomes you in summer, which begins in May and ends in October. Temperatures in Lagos rarely drop below 20°C during this time, which means you can pack light and leave the warm layers at home. June through August experiences the warmest weather in Lagos with highs of 27°C. Lagos has 12 hours of sunshine per day in the summer with sea temperatures reaching their annual high of 23°C in August.

Rain isn’t much of an issue until winter when an umbrella or waterproof raincoat is a must. 51mm of rain is expected in December that lowers to 30mm in January. Showers are usually brief and light, which is good news if you’ve got lots of outdoor activities planned for your holiday.

Temperatures in winter are mild at around 16°C with an average humidity level of 72%. Lagos weather is very mild in spring and autumn and ideal for sightseeing. You can expect a daily average around 20°C with up to 11 hours of sunshine a day. The heat and humidity are moderated by a cooling breeze from the Barlavento coast, which makes the weather in Lagos perfect for relaxing by the beach without feeling too hot.
