There's a lot to do in the town of Silves, which is just a 20 minute drive away from Carvoeiro. Stroll around the building's remains and experience the enormity of the castle walls. The reddish, sandstone fortress is in an admirable setting of lush, green countryside and the flowing Arade River. Climb the steep steps to the top to see magnificent views of the picturesque surroundings.
