One of the main beaches in the resort is Praia do Carvoeiro, commonly known as Town Beach, which is a quaint, sandy beach with magnificent cliffs that shelter the shore.

Certainly. There are several excellent dive schools based in the resort and lots to see under the water along the stunning Algarve coast.

Some of the Algarve’s most favoured golf courses are nearby including the renowned Pestana Golf Resort with miles of rolling plains, green hills and glistening lakes. Several high standard courses are on site with varied difficulty levels, suitable for all abilities.

Is Carvoeiro suitable for young travellers?

Apart from the beaches, there’s a variety of water sports to keep youngsters happy, plus two water parks on the doorstep. Zoomarine, one of the most popular theme park/water parks is nearby with dolphin and sea lion shows.

The nightlife is mainly based around families with quite a vibrant mix of restaurants and bars with live music to cater for the teenagers too. Albufeira is close by for a more lively nightlife scene.

What supermarkets does Carvoeiro have?

The old part of Carvoeiro only has a few small grocery shops, with the larger supermarkets out of town towards Lagoa, one opening seven days a week until around 8.30pm. There is a bus stop within 150m but buses can be infrequent, so it’s easier to go by car or taxi.
