What can I do in Albufeira on a budget?

Albufeira has a string of inviting beaches with different characteristics, why not explore and see what each has to offer.

There are some reasonably-priced boat trips along the coast, some starting at around 20€. Or try kayaking in and out of the amazing rocky caves – you might get to see dolphins as a bonus.

Take to the forest with Luso Aventura, don some safety gear and the whole family can have fun swinging from trees, climbing ladders and whizzing down zip wires. A great experience costing 10-17€ each according to level.

Hire a bike for the best way to see the unspoilt countryside and places you’d miss otherwise. If you’re up for some steeper terrain, there are mountain bike tours to do as well.

Have an easy day and wander around the charming Old Town with a view around every corner. Sit with a coffee or glass of wine in the square and take in the atmosphere.

A monthly flea market comes to town, next to the bus terminal in Caliços on the second and third Saturdays of the month from 8am-1pm. if you like browsing and haggling for a bargain.

Is there an Irish Bar in Albufeira?

Shamrock Irish Bar in Bar Street comes highly recommended for the ‘craic’ – fun, friendliness, entertainment, music and live singing (not just Irish, but ’60s/’70s and karaoke) as well as the reasonably priced drinks.
